'All publicity is good publicity' - apparently not!
For some, once you have FU money, the calculus is different—because UDGAF either way and can be as much of a clown as you want.

Yeah, amazing how he thought Falcon wings doors and a polarizing stainless steel design were going to be good business decisions.....but hey they look cool, right? Shame they have not reinvested into R&D for faster charge speeds, battery tech or updates to Model X (this things needs to be a true 3 row SUV...Americans love these). At least they got the Supercharger network correct and their efficiency is pretty good.
Some of that could be attributed to wanting to have a standout feature, like Rivian's headlights and front face. The stainless steel was a bridge too far, as the drawbacks made the vehicle unappealing to the mass market. Elon's idea of style is sorely lacking, and the original designs are bland, so he overcorrected with the most gauche thing he could think of.

Rivian's designers have done an excellent job making their ascend interiors feel premium. I agree that the things people care about are things Tesla is falling behind it.

We've seen a lot of Tesla converts (refugees?) lately. Not a single one said "this [Rivian] interior is shit".

And the one thing they did get right - the Tesla chargers and its network - he fired the people behind them. What a knob end.

And ended up rehiring a lot of them back. Hmmm, where else have I seen that happen? 🤔

A lot? You have numbers? Some were reportedly hired back. No reporting on how many were fired and how many of them returned. Some, is all that could be said.

I was told 'a lot' by someone in the local store when I went in to test drive a Cybertruck. I don't have numbers. You can take that or leave it.

Is there a thread here or advice for potential Tesla converts to Rivian like myself? Likely perceived pros and cons of Rivian or unexpected differences I might need to adjust to after owning a Tesla Model X??

Is there a thread or anything for us wheelchair guys looking to buy a Rivian?

Regarding Tesla converts, I've seen a ton of threads on this topic, especially on sites like Facebook and Reddit. Unfortunately they usually devolve into flame wars, on those sites. 😖

Regarding wheelchairs specifically though, this guy owns a mobility company and is an enthusiastic Rivian owner. You might want to check out this video that just came out a few weeks ago. I'm sure there are others, but this one is recent:
