People are quick to feel unappreciated right now with the wage stagnation and inflation issues we've had the last two years. I don't think this is a systemic issue specific to Rivian.

Layoffs do that at a company, especially if handled poorly. Morale is not good at my company right now either.

In my industry I’ve been union, I’ve been non union..
Union is not a cure all by any stretch, but it was better than not.

Generally speaking, imo people like RJ tend not to get it. They are a little too wrapped up in their dream and the day to day.

I do not envy him, dealing with this current generation, but he’s got to figure it out. Will not get better by itself.

I know my family member loves it there. They have the same issue as everyone else (working 40 hours is too much for some people)

This is the other side of the coin. Large local employer (Caterpillar) and the union have tentative agreement. This group and their statements are getting a lot of attention. Could get interesting. Grass isn't always greener lol.

I don’t meet too many people that are all that excited about their jobs lately. That includes me and I am an owner :CWL:

Morale is low everywhere right now, especially in automotive.
My company announced record sales internally and then gave out 2.5% raises and a bonus payout of 67%, pretty disappointing.

Could be worse. There was some layoffs (though not in my area) then 5% across the board pay cut, they dropped all recognition programs, killed the quarterly profit bonus (which was hilarious because they don't expect a profit this quarter) and reduced our 401k matching from 5% to 2.5%. Oh and no raises this year, merit based or otherwise.
