Hoping to retire soon
I tried the ARB jack pad in my garage. With the jack maxed out, it did lift the rear tire off the ground but barely an inch. I’m thinking on gravel or softer ground it wouldn’t work so well. The center part the jack sits on is only 1.25 inches thick. Probably will return it and try the 2” roadwarrior pad.

Would it work if the vehicle was on a lower suspension height? Not sure if that's feasible since I haven't done a tire change myself yet...,

Thank you for the update! The Rivian rear suspension cycles a bit more than the front, meaning it takes more lift on the rear as opposed to the fronts. Having said that, my wifes R1S clears in All Purpose mode and Tire Change setting engaged with an almost identical height lifting pad. It clears the ground by 1.75".

I would try All Purpose/Tire Change mode and see if there is a difference. I carry both our standard magnetic jack puck kit, like you have, along with our XL for terrain challenges requiring added lift in the rear.

Thanks again for your business and feedback!

XL pictured below has another 2+ inches of bottle jack height available.

I did try all purpose/tire change modes and it got even less lift. I guess the suspension moves more before the tire starts to lift off the ground. Anyway, the jack does move laterally a bit when using that plastic jack pad even though it is perfectly vertical under the puck before lifting. It ends up a bit crooked (see pic). Maybe there's a thicker jack pad out there that grips better and doesn't move as much.

FWIW- I rotated the 20's on my R1T last weekend using the EV Sportline jack kit with billet puck. While it lifted the font tirs off the ground, it could not lift the rears off the ground till I placed a 2x6 under the jack. I'm sure glad I found this out at home where I had some scrap wood handy vs out on the road somewhere. I now keep a piece of 2X6 under the rear seat along with the jack kit.

There is quite a bit of suspension travel in the rear and unlike the front, as the rear control arms arc moving upwards the vehicle follows it, which causes any jack to follow (tilt) along with it. It is best to lift it 50% and then lower it and shift your jack over along with your pad, 2x4 or whatever one uses, then relift 100% to change the tire. Otherwise, any jack will tilt towards the rear centerline of the vehicle as the suspension travels along it's arc.

Clear as mud...I did a video and post on this 18 months ago.

Thanks for reaching out. The good news is we have increased our production volume, which has enabled us as of 3 days ago to lower our price to an all-time low. Because of this, there aren't any active discount codes at operating now, but your timing is excellent.

You'll love our magnetic jack pucks. Free shipping in all 50 States, and same day shipping 6-days per week. Thanks again!

If you don't have any magnetic jack puck(s), then we would suggest you purchase a kit (set of four), about 85% of our customers purchase a kit. If you just want a single puck for a possible road side repair, then most people are selecting the XL now. The original single pucks are being placed into our inventory as we speak and will start shipping on Wednesday.

We've shipped thousands of kits in the last two years and do have a special for the purchase of a kit and an XL together, using Code: XL Combo for $10 off's. Always free shipping.

Thanks

Thanks, I dont have any right now. I need mainly for roadside where I can get roadside tech to change spare. Other use would be to go to discount tires or so in case of flat tire.

I'd recommend a kit, which offers you the flexibility for a tire rotation, tire change or repair (as you noted) and an XL just in case. My wife carries the kit and XL in her R1S and I carry the same in my R1T.

This will cover you for any eventuality. Whichever you choose, everything will ship out quickly to you. On a side note, it is handy to have the Big Red 10T Bottle Jack from Amazon, in case road side repair personnel are hours away.
