I like to keep the interiors (and exteriors) of my vehicles clean so shortly after taking delivery of this 2025 R1S Dual Large we got to seeking out a set of all-weather mats to get us through the rest of a snowy and mucky NJ winter. I've had varying degrees of success with Weathertech and Kagu mats, very good experience with 3W Liners mats (not yet available for Gen 2) and various OEM mats. Here we take a look at the factory Chilewich mats and replace them with the Rivian All-Weather Mats fresh from the Gear shop.

Those gaps adjacent to the mats are horrendous and further solidify my opinion that the OEM all weather mats are not a good option for Gen 2 owners. You need good coverage near the door thresholds to protect against snow/salt/water/dirt getting tracked in. Also no coverage under the pedal is a bad choice.

I bought LinerX for my front, 2nd, 3rd row in my Gen 2 and I don't love the fitment of the 2nd/3rd row. I was barely able to get the 2nd row to snap in and it required a significant amount of pulling. I am impatiently waiting for TuxMat releases their Gen 2 mats. I currently have the TuxMat trunk mat in my Gen 2 and it is great.

It's pretty horrendous in terms of gaps/fitment. It's like Rivian didn't even know the dimensions of their own vehicles before creating the mats. So much for 'adventuring'.

Yeah I got them and regret it. The lack of coverage under the gas pedal is the worst part. I'm probably gonna replace these before next winter with Tuxmat. They were great in my last car.

great illustration. I just don't get what Rivian was thinking with these mats. They don't fit and don't have raised lips. So bizarre.
