Hello, I got email last week that I had shop access, checked out about 6 vehicles, none had my exact confit, then this week more were added and had my config, so I went ahead and reserved it, got email to start the steps. Then got email 10 min later to book delivery and it showed I could get delivery this Friday. However I am leaving next week for month in Europe and didn’t want to rush the examination and miss the first week trial period when I could return it if I noticed any significant issues. I called a guide and he said he would cancel order and I could keep in the loop for future shop vehicles. The one I picked was a forest green with forest edge interior but I noticed later that it was a launch edition. I thought the launch editions were all in launch green, so I was surprised to get a forest green launch, I am also a jan 22 preorder holder, and thought all the launch edition models were sold?any differences between adventure model and launch? Also now I no longer have shop access and my delivery date says processing when before I was a Oct-Dec delivery window. Anyone else have similar experience?

My Rivian story is long, with a few chapters; I'll try to keep things as brief and to the point as possible.

My 2020 reservation was for a quad Max and I've had Shop access intermittently for the better part of a year. I was not tempted by any of the offerings, since none were outfitted with the Max. After the quad Max was canceled however, I changed my reservation to an R1S LR and eventually selected one from the Shop that was close to my configuration. Several weeks into the 8-step process, I asked to be detached from the Shop order. Access to the Shop , which was of course previously suspend, was eventually restored after detaching with no action on my part. About two months ago, I made a change to my R1S configuration and again lost Shop access for a period. It too was later restored, again with no action on my part. The Shop changed a bit in the interim however, and now showed both models (an aside: the R1T always outnumbers the R1S in the offerings). Since detaching from the Shop order, my projected delivery has always been shown as "Processing estimate".

Now that we've gotten to the end of the second quarter of 2023, Rivian will revise all delivery estimates, so it's likely you will see a date range instead of "Processing estimate" once things are updated.

OP - curious why you picked one in the shop if you knew you were leaving town for a month…seems like you would have waited until your return or just before.

My mistake, I had been waiting for long time and it said 1-8 weeks delivery, so figured, since I live in canada, it would be closer to 8 weeks wait. Appeared they are already at local service center, had I known I would have waited, also seems now it says my configuration is “locked in” and can’t make any changes any more, and I am still considering 20 inch wheels vs 21 inch, but can’t make any changes now.
