Were there any speculation remaining? This "article" is extremely light on revelations. Since news broke, pretty much everything's already been declared through additional reporting by the likes of Reuters and Bloomberg, plus various interviews given by RJ and VW officials.

- $1B initial investment, additional $4B into the JV overtime (with door open for more)
- The JV is for Rivian's zonal architecture and software stack
- VW Group gets the course correction it needs on software
- Rivian gets greater leverage on cost of chips, like Nvidia chips that are powerful and essential for many features; including autonomy
- The JV has no intent on joint manufacturing of cars. It is strictly on the zonal architecture and software.
