Rivians are taking over Austin

Been traveling to Austin, TX for the past 20 years and have noticed in this last trip a huge boom in the number of Rivians on the roads. Haven't seen so many in any other city. Really cool to see.

Didn't see a single one myself but I just went back and forth for the day ;-)

I've seen many more Rivians on the 210 freeway and 10 freeway, as well as some popping up in my own neighborhood of Rancho Cucamonga. Those on the internet claiming that nobody is buying Rivians are either ignorant of sales data or deliberately misleading people (oil and ICE industries or are just simple attention whores). Both R1S and R1T have become more commonly seen in the last year or so. The word is spreading that for those spending 70K to 110K+ on a new vehicle, the Rivian is a compelling alternative.

I'm out in the far-flung Austin-area burbs, so I don't see (m)any other Rivians out here. But while I was working at Zilker during ACL, I saw a bunch parked under MoPac every morning as I was walking in, pretty cool.

I saw 4 R1S in less than 10 minutes in the Lakeway area this week. Passed an R1T on my way north along MOPAC the same morning. Hoping to see many more in the San Antonio area when the service center opens s00n.
