I read a similar story about Teslas ending up there after being salvaged here. Apparently they have quite a few innovative mechanics that seem to get them fixed up and running.. Not many reports about what happens AFTER that point, but it’s interesting.

Hopefully they don’t get any ideas from all the recent news about EV batteries starting on fire due to salt water.
I don’t want to read the news tomorrow and see that Ukraine is lighting up Rivian’s for the war effort?

I think they have been salvaging Tesla's for a long time, so they have the skills and the regulations (or lack of?) and the market has the appetite for the risk of it; so not a big surprise to hear it

A lot of totalled/wrecked cars that come with a salvage certificate, or a parts only title, get exported to Ukraine, and other countries thruout the EU.

Its amazing that they can buy cars in America, export them, repair them, and they are still cheaper than the vehicles they can buy locally, which means they are profitable to sell.
