Roof height bed rack for R1T

Help!! Has anybody found an after market, roof height bed rack for the R1T? Between the Rivian mounting portals and the tonneau cover limitations, I’m becoming more concerned that Rivian completely whiffed on this one. I now have an R1S preorder, but am considering switching to the R1T. Regardless of which one I end up with, I will need to be able to mount a rack - rooftop (R1S) or bed mount (R1T)- capable of handling a 78” long, hardshell RTT. And NO, the current crossbar offerings and configuration won’t cut it.

Most of the universal fit type racks, that I have seen online, would appear to clamp on/overlap the bed rails and thus interfere with the Rivian tonneau cover tracks. I’m not sure how the Rivian mounting portals are attached, if they can be used or even removed to allow for a bolt on rack. Utilizing the portals would be great. In the absence of that option, being able to remove the portals and bolt a rack on, would be the ideal, I think.

Just touched bases with xtrusion-overland.com and was told their R1T bed racks should be up on their website and ready for orders by 12/31. I was also told they are utilizing the existing Rivian mounting portals. Hmmm. I’ll be interested to see how that works out. I hope they will be study enough. I also took that to mean that they wouldn’t interfere with the tonneau cover tracks. These racks are very customizable and allow for varying heights. This is really good news! If these turn out to be like their other racks, I hope it will allow my RTT to just clear the cab roof.

Yeah, I have seen those, but $3300! Ain’t gonna happen ? I do like their roof rack design and it would be nice on an R1S, but still pricey.

Not going to argue with you there, lower priced options and competition will certainly help. I was on a timeline so I couldn’t wait for another roof rack option, also very cool they are selling me some extra mounting brackets for my bed project.
