I'm looking for a cargo box that will be a good fit to go on the rails over the Tonneau cover. I would ideally like it to fit ski's (at least up to 160cm), golf bags and just more stuff without sticking out the rear too much and staying below the roof for aero. Other than that, the bigger the better. I was looking at the Jegs 18 Cu-ft Jegs, but it says no more than a 30" spread on the rails, while the truck has a fixed 33". Also, anything I need to look for to be sure it will mount on the standard rails? They seem pretty thick compared to some of the standard rails from Thule, Yakima, etc.

Any suggestions?

You almost cannot run out of room with an R1T. Anything you add externally will add weight and disrupt air flow, lowering efficiency. Also changing tires, rims, rock sliders etc.
I love the quiet efficient looks and range of RJs OEM 21 inch choice.
It is your vehicle, but your current skis probably fit diagonally. You could buy shorter skis and save thousands.
Good luck my friend.

I just picked up a Yakima Deepspace 10 box which is designed to be mounted over a truck bed. You’re not going to fit skis in any kind of box unless you get a full-length roof box which will overhang the back quite a bit and cover the tailgate when open (which makes getting hear in and out of the truck bed difficult). For ski season, I use a Yakima Fatcat 6 clamp rack over the bed which is super simple and convenient. Being mounted over the bed means it mostly keeps the skis clean of road spray and it is out of the wind so it’s quiet and doesn’t impact range.

+1 for the DeepSpace 10. I currently have that box mounted on one half of the rails and the SkinnyWarrior mounted on the other. For camping with a 1-yo and a dog this extra space is very welcome. During ski season I swap the SkinnyWarrior out for the FatCat 6 but I can leave the DeepSpace 10 mounted on just fine which works great for boots, helmets, etc.

The DeepSpace and FatCat 6 both fit at the same time?! 🤯

It's a little tight, but with the clamps yeah it fits. I just went out and snapped a few pics, it might be a little hard to tell since I have the basket on there right now but I've done it. I also have the FatCat4 which is a great combo with the T-slot adapters.
