I have the RMAXX/EVSportline running boards, and they were great, easily one of the best additions to my R1T. One thing that has been at the back of my mind though, is when it rains, or my shoes are just wet, or when I'm standing on the edge of the very narrow running board platform, slipping is always a concern.
So this week I picked up some 4" wide 3M Safety Tape from Amazon for $25, and cut to apply to the running boards.
It's not the best aligned job, but it's not meant to be seen (in reality it's pretty invisible) and it works wonders in maintaining grip when I'm standing on the running boards. I've only done the driver side now, but when I get around to the passenger side, I have a better idea about how to line up tape with the curved profile of the boards and keep the spacing a bit more consistent. Until then, it's already a 10/10 improvement.
