Hi, all.

I currently lease (10 months in) a 2024 R1S. I love the car l. Absolutely no complaints. Only thing, I had picked it off the shop and it wasn’t the color of my choice.

my current: ‘24 DM, Standard+, 21” wheels, FG interior

I recently spotted a similar config but DM Performance, Large, in the demo shop (5k miles). And I have a strong feeling this is the exact car I test drove with my extended family so there’s that sentiment. Anyway, I ordered it (0 cost before actual sale happens).

now, I’m trying to see if this makes sense financially and that’s where I need help. With Chase buy out and Rivian trade in, I’m 10k in the negative. But with a KBB “my value” best estimate is over the chase buyout value by 8k.

not considering my lease payments thus far, what else am I losing value on? I don’t absolutely want the switch but I might consider it if it’s a little bit of a stretch.

You'd be better off getting yours wrapped in whatever color you want and buying out the lease. You're going to take a more significant hit trading than that.

Financially you'll probably take a big hit. If color is the main issue, just get your car wrapped.

Deal with the color until the lease is over. That is literally the only option other than setting your bank on fire.
