Richmond Rivian Center -- 30+ R1T prepped for delivery

Anyone knows if there is a plan for DC or Maryland service center? Or Richmond will be it for a long time?

Rockville, but it’s not “official” or apparently permanent, at least not yet. They’re using it as a delivery staging facility. Rivian did not list it as a location on their AMA last week.

It looks like if they don’t have a bunch of lifts lined up, they may not be set up for serious work and have =only support for mobile techs. Most of my car ownership experience has been post warranty and I am planning to keep R1 long after warranty has expired too. Trying to see if long term, Richmond (150 miles away) will be where I will visit often or Rockville. I know EVs are supposed to be not as needy but based on what we have seen so far and this being a 1st Gen vehicle, it is reasonable to expect some issues.

Some shots of R1Ts being prepped for delivery in Richmond VA. I had my truck in for some body panel alignment work for a couple days and snapped some shots around the service center. The property there is MASSIVE! When I dropped my truck off there were about 30 trucks ready for delivery. When i picked it up a few days later, about 70 trucks. Including this sweet Limestone with FG interior ?? Very nice, whoever configured that one ??​

I thought I read in another thread that the workers who set up the Richmond center were supposedly going to be setting up one in Wilmington, DE next, which may be closer depending on where in Maryland you live. Wilmington DE would also be a nice spot to service Southeastern Pennsylvania vehicles, because Pennsylvania lawmakers love dealers.

That is good news. 100 miles and 2 hrs. Is still 40 mile and half hour savings for me.

By the time your warranty is up, there will be far more service centers and options for repairs. Near term there is a facility in Rockville, but it's not customer facing. ie. You can't go there and visit.
