After I click on menu bars, my tesla app does not show charge your other vehicle. Do I need to update the app?

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
I’m sure you have the answer to your question now, but I’d like to ask you a few for the sake of the community.

How much does the Tesla Supercharger membership cost?

What is the rate per kW after having the membership vs. the standard non-Tesla rate?

Thanks!

You could just look to the readily available info via Tesla.

That said, it’s $12.99 per month which gets you the same pricing as a Tesla owner would have at a given location. Pricing varies by location. I did some rudimentary math and for me (also taking into account my home charging cost), if I am use a supercharger 3x per month, then I am saving $ with the membership. So far, I have only needed to charge away from home about 10 times in 3 years of total EV ownership, so that’s a factor too (for me).

Thanks. This is the kind of info I was looking for. Basically is it worth paying for the membership? I don’t have a place to charge at home, like the vast number of apartment and condo dwellers without on-site level 2 chargers. Even if you’re lucky enough to have a garage it might only have a 120V outlet at best, which is still too slow for charging purposes if you’re daily driving.

If you do not have a way to charge at home then a membership is definitely worth it. Check what is in your area, DCFC charging cost has gone up a lot in the last year+.

Tesla charges 12.99 a month and gives ~25% discount, a charger near my house has variable rates highest peak is 82/61, lowest off peak is 41/30 (those are cents per kWh standard/membership pricing) so anything over 70 kWh at highest and 119 kWh at lowest pays for the month, your area rates will vary. You do need to start the charge from the Tesla app before plugging in to get the membership pricing.

If there are Electrify America stations around you, their membership is 7.00 a month with the same ~25% discount. A station near me charges 64/48 cents per kWh, there is no peak charging so that membership is paid for after 44 kWh a month.

Yep. Rough average I see is about a $0.12-0.14/kwh discount and therefore about 100kwh in a month pays for the $13/mo membership. Only saving money after that. A long road trip using primarily Tesla is well worth it, otherwise maybe not so much. We have a 1000 mile round trip going on right now but plans to only use one Tesla charger, so at best we’d break even. Didn’t get the membership for this trip.

EA seems to pay for itself in about 50kwh/mo of charging but obviously is generally a lot less reliable
/available and charges a bit more on average with or without the discount compared to Tesla. Got it for a previous 1000 mile trip and it saved us a couple bucks. Barely worth it but pretty easy to activate/deactivate.

I'm in Canada and set up my Tesla account with a Canadian address... I didn't have any problems enabling Tesla chargers from the app. Not sure why you had to you use a US address...

Incidentally, it is the same with Ford: you have to use the app to start the session, not plug & charge, to get the membership pricing.
Hi,

It's interesting that my Tesla profile has a Canadian address, but my billing address options only allow me to choose the United States. The Canada option is grayed out and not selectable, so I ended up having to choose a U.S. address.
