I’m considering getting the same wheels that @OffRoad987 showed above (20x9”, +25 offset) with 285/60 or 295/60 tires.

According to this source, compared to the OEM 275/65/20’s, 295/60’s would be 0.2” shorter and 0.8” wider, and 285/60’s would be 0.6” shorter and 0.4” wider.

I suspect that these would rub in lowest ride height while turning sharp and perhaps under full compression, but I wouldn’t drive it in lowest with tires this size.

I’m curious if anyone has tried either of these combos, or has any useful thoughts about them

Update: I have the new wheels & tires installed. I have the wheels described above (20x9”, +25mm offset), with 285/60/20 BFG AT KO2 tires.

@Rexbo For the table at the beginning of this thread- After driving this setup a few hundred miles on the street, I’ve had the front tires rub in low & lowest ride height over bumps, with the suspension in Soft. There’s no rubbing in full lock turning without bumps. In medium ride height, I have not experienced any rubbing so far.

Someone please post pictures of these badazz tire/wheel combos on a R1S! Now this is a look I could go for when we (eventually) get our rig!

@Rexbo Here’s another combo for your table:

OEM wheels (powder coated) with 285/65R20 Nokian Outpost AT. No rubbing and overall a great tire.

Looks great. Curious f those would rub when turning while flexing in an offroad situation. Can you post a full side profile pic when you get the chance?

Picked my R1S last Friday. Quite like it. I've had an LR4 on which I put BFG KO2s 33.1" tires tho it required a heat gun and some banging, rolling. Reluctant to do that again. Rexbo, how are the 34.6 (285/65/20) working out now that you've put some miles on them? What rubbing issues? Esp offroad?

No rubbing on lowest? Very curious if you notice any range impact with these, just a hair bigger and wider than OEM but look great.

No rubbing yet, and there's quite a bit of clearance on the lowest so I expect it to be fine. But, I got them installed not long ago, so I'll report back once I have put them to the test - including any sort of range impact. Will know more s00n.

Awesome looking truck! I really like the powder-coated wheels, beefier tires, and matte wrap on the Launch Green. It all looks especially nice in this light. Enjoy it!

I know most of this is a discussion about capability improvement, but wow, do those bronze wheel over the yellow calipers on the red truck look fantastic.

@oybed Updated table, thanks! That satin wrap is some hotness!

@dp351 Updated table, thanks! Color combo looks excellent, got that iron man look.

@Desiboy Honestly, I drive most of the time in normal ride height in soft, and it takes a BIG bump to get them to rub, so really at this point I don't have any complaints. That said, I did put the stock 21"s back on because they're quieter and better efficiency, and will just be swapping back and forth for camping trips.

+1 interested in your findings. Those are a great looking tire on the truck. I try not to fall too hard for aesthetics when making overlanding decisions, but I've not seen many that fit better and have that nice a look, thus far.
