Wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the tremendous knowledge sharing and helpful insights. I was at lunch and fiddling around with the shop availability and found a close match. R1S, ECG, OC, 20". VIN is 17XXX I originally planned on 21" because it will mostly see regular roads. This forum not only helped me understand and appreciate the R1 but, helped me choose the right wheel size (more options). Thank you.

My guide is helping me through the next steps. I have been told to expect delivery in 4-6 weeks. If I can be of any help to anyone (humbly saying) don't hesitate to ask. Cheers!

Update: Received SC text that my car is here they will schedule delivery. That's approximately 2 weeks from the 8th.

Update: Received SC text that my car is here they will schedule delivery. That's approximately 2 weeks from the 8th. I promised myself I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist but here I am.

Just received info SC scheduled Friday delivery. I am braving the sub Saharan weather. All steps are complete. Just waiting for insurance and that should be it. Rivian has been great to work with.

Mates! Picked up the R1 this morning. The staff at the SC were all great. Just like my test drives, they took a lot more time with me than the allotted 30 minutes. The gent that helped with the test drives came out to meet me as did the manager. My friend went with me and he spotted a couple of very light scratches. They immediately had someone buff them out. There was a very small ding on the drivers door that they helped me put a ticket in for. Driving home, I noticed a lot of windshield noise and later the a/c seemed loud. I made a mental note and was going to put new tickets in tomorrow but wouldn't you know it-Rivian called me to see how things were and put in the ticket items for me.

About the car. Not going to bore you with details you already know. I am trying to be very careful because this is my first SUV. It "feels" a lot smaller than it is. It goes very fast very quickly. The torque is mind bending. The preponderance of menus and controls on the main screen is distracting. This is not a negative on Rivian. I'm just not used to it. I have stopped letting my friends and family know I got this because everyone wants a ride. Thank you all again for helping me. Cheers.
