I put down a reservation March 5 2023 (yes less than two weeks ago) and received an invite to configure my R1T yesterday. When I reserved, I was thinking the truck would be headed my way more towards the end of the year. Unsure what I'm going to do.
Perhaps this isn't fair on my part, but I also don't quite understand how Rivian had 120k+ preorders last quarter and they're inviting somebody who just put down a reservation to configure. It does make me worry about the demand and thus potential health of Rivian. If I'm going to spend 90k+ on a truck I want the company to be around to service it..
I wouldn't read too much into it. Both SF and Chicago are areas where Rivian can effectively deliver and service vehicles. Also as others have said Rivian is clearly trying to boost margins, the QM trucks they are configuring now are lower margin and selling them at $80k is causing Rivian to lose it's shirt. If you want a QM this is your time, I expect come later this year they will be making mostly DM trucks.Same here...i reserved Feb 27th 2023 and also got invited to config.
I wonder how soon Rivian starts offering a lease option. I have noticed that Polestar and Hyundai are pushing that route so they can still take advantage of the tax creditThe change in EV credits haven’t help Rivian or it’s buyers only there will be less of them.
Don't pay more than $100k, plenty on offer at that price. $116k is gouging.Humm in a couple hrs drive there is 2023 R1S listed for 115,900$ seems like a great deal when my configuration is 95,600$ offer 110k
Update - only 49 left today. Looks like people are buying them up!Shows me 60 available vehicles. I’m in NY if that matters.
We put our grand down last July (2022) and nothing yet--no configuration--no order...So people who are really recent? I don’t understand who doesn’t have a configuration.
What is a close Service Center? We are about 5 hours from the Denver one.By my estimates, Rivian is prioritizing configuration invites to people who: 1/ are post price hike and 2/ live close to service centers
That’s probably a bit far, imo. I’d say within 1-2 hours would be higher priorityWhat is a close Service Center? We are about 5 hours from the Denver one.
