Today I had Atomic's AW10s installed on my R1T along with Micheline Defender LTX M/S2 tires in 275/60/20. ( I previously had the stock 21s). The new setup looks and rides fantastic. Discount Tire inflated the Defenders to 45 psi and this is verified by the TPMS, which is throwing off an alert because it's below the recommended 49 psi.
So is that the optimal psi? And if it is, is there a way to get the truck to recognize that as the desired level so it stops throwing off the warning? Thanks!

I think those tires have the same weight profile as the OEM 20" tires right? Quick search says they can take 50psi so I would suggest inflating them to 48psi cold.

No reason to run lower than that.

I not an expert but...48 psi is what Rivian recommends. That's cold pressure. Since this is a light truck tire, some on this forum are suggesting running a higher PSI.

Pics please 😎

Min 48 PSI
Max 50 PSI
These are cold pressures, it's ok if hot pressures are 2-4 psi above max (so 53-55 max).

Those look nice! I think the Defender is the best tire to get for handling/efficiency/treadwear, please report back once you have some data, here's detail on tire pressure, load, and the tread diameter in contact with the ground (contact patch) - 48 PSI is to maximize efficiency by minimizing the contact patch diameter:

My friend accidentally inflated one of his same tires to 65 PSI recently (as read by the truck) and immediately pulled over to deflate when he did that. He now owns a manual gauge and doesn't rely on the truck anymore.

Yeap Your discount tires should have put it at 48 psi. They did that on my general grabber HTS 60 with the same max psi of 51 like yours. I'm running mine at 49 currently

Reviving this thread. I have an Atturo Trail Blade ATS 275/50R22 on order which appears to have a max PSI of 40 (based on their website). Has anyone pumped these up to 48 without issue? Or do I need to live with TPMS errors at 40? Lol!

Wow. Max pressure at 40? What make you decided to go with this tire?

$175/tire, great reviews, 50k treadlife warranty, quiet, missed the part about max PSI before ordering 😑

In my defence, each size of this tire has different max PSIs. I saw 80 for a size and took it as gospel for all sizes.

Live with the warning, usually exceeding max by a couple of pounds is OK but that is exceeding by 20% before they heat up, just not worth the risk running that high. .

Can't beat $175 a tire. There has to be a way to reprogram the tpms to a lower pressure
