Took Delivery of R1T Dune Edition Today

I’m told it’s the first Dune in Arizona (I also had the privelege of being the first R1S owner in Idaho with my Launch Edition).

1. Sooo...color? This is the most yellow/green tint I've seen, most of the press shots and even Rivian Spaces pics have really made it look white. Is the hue distinctive, and what you expected?

2. Is the interior closer to Ascend or Adventure trim, or a blend?

3. What do you think of the V2 tonneau? Is it as smooth/fast as the various videos we've been seeing?

Good questions.

1) I must confess I used the “enhance” feature for the photos on my iPhone to get more contrast in the picture. So I agree, it looks more green in the picture than in real life. The color is lighter than I expected. Creamy white with a hint of brown/tan.

2) It’s in the Ascend family. In fact, when I look at my order it says it is Ascend (apparently there is no code for Dune…so it’s Ascend trim instead).

3) I had an R1S before so can’t really compare the tonneau covers. It seems pretty smooth operating, but still shuffles a bit when opening. I think time will tell regarding its resilience.

Also worth mentioning it doesn’t have the latest software (2025.06) that was released yesterday. I’m unsure if they’re staging the rollout and my vehicle hasn’t been green lit yet…but hopefully I can update soon.

It may say that on the spec sheet - but its definitely a mix of the two, leaning much more toward adventure:

Unique to dune edition:

• Non-Carpet cleanable floor covering (this is awesome btw - I'm jealous)
• Chilewich mats - (same as gen1 adventure)

Ascend:

• Foot Pedals (same as gen1 adventure)

Adventure:

• Seats (though obviously a unique color scheme)
• Headliner (not the sueded finish of gen1 adventure, or ascend)
• Open-pore rough finished wood trim (not finished like ascend is)
• Doors (fabric on pockets etc)

Overall - if you gonna be getting dirty, other than the wood I think this is probably a better package than the ascend trim, which though beautiful leans much more into exec car territory than 'mud proof'
