These will be legal for snow for those that need it -- but don't expect miracles in any AT tire. A well sipped highway tire will do better in ice any day.

^ Agreed and, living in MN, I'm still debating on if I want to sacrifice the "cooler" look of the Toyos in exchange for the Defender LTX MS2's instead as we get our fair share of snow and ice. Would probably get better winter performance and efficiency even though the MS2's aren't 3 peak rated.

I live in the mountains and have driven the LT in the snow. They do great in deep snow, but don't expect miracles on ice. They do the job but I drive slowly and only use snow mode Regen to slow down.

Yes, for off-road or where you are trailblazing ATs are great.

For just about any highway where 50 cars have passed before you and its packed, (IE: Ski Resorts), they will do not so great.

If you can, get two sets. Blizzak for the winter, AT for the summer. Best of both worlds!

I've been going to the local Sam's Club for tire changes for a while. They've done good work on the Model 3 over the years for the new tires, but I've also just done many of the rotations at home, just for the time convenience.

Anyways, while Sam's Club has the standard A/T III tire as an option on their web site, they don't have the A/T III EV variant available. I printed off the Toyo page from the samsclub.com web site and then also the A/T III and A/T III EV pages from toyotires.com and dropped those off at the local branch. "I'm going to be looking for replacement tires in about a year and it sure would be nice if you had these tires as ones that could be ordered." Hopefully, they'll work with corporate to get them added to the list.

Great write up, looking forward to replacing my current Open Country with the new 3PEAK snowflakes EV updated version. At 30k miles, it is close replacement time. Mostly highway and very happy with the safety, ride, grip, and finally the looks. I am running on 22's at 48 psi all the time.

How does the noise compare to new Pirelles? (not worn Pirelles).

It’s hard to remember that far back but I’d say new Pirellis and new ATIII have about the same noise volume but different pitch. If memory serves, the Pirellis were higher pitch. Neither are distracting when new.

Thank you. My Pirellis are at 15k and seem very loud now. They also seem to ride rougher, but this part might just be psychological.

Hi all just stumbled on this thread as im almost ready to replace my stock 20s with 24k. Still have about 8/32nd tread left but they are loud. OP mentioned he has the Toyo AT III EV in LT. Is that how it was made a few months ago? I ask because now its either LT thats E rated, or the SL that is actually the EV model. the SL is 13lbs lighter than the LT, which also comes with 13.5/32nds tread rather than the LT's 16.5 /32nds saving in weight.

as of today 2/10/25, i'm debating on these Toyo AT III EV in SL, or the new bridgestone dueler Ascent tires. The ascents arent EV rated but they are low rolling resistance and E rated.

Toyo released LT variant before SL, in 275/65

Ahhh ok thats good to know.. seems like they just Slapped the EV label on the heavier LT version until they could come out with the EV SL ones. OEMS are SL and they seem to handle sidewall offraoding pretty decently. Ive hit some pretty knarly obstacles with them and no issues. So hoping these SL toyos will be ok too.
I put on a prinsu rack and LED bar and the windnoise is pretty loud. My efficiency went from 2.0 down to 1.7ish... So just looking for the best mild AT tire

The EV variant is a splinter line of the non-EV OC ATIII, with many sizes available and planned. The EV variant is indeed different from non-EV—lower profile shoulder lugs, to minimize air turbulence, and [most likely] a tweak in rubber compound. LT/XL/SL are just differences in tire construction, for sake of different max load requirements.

Have you found the SL275/65/R20 available anywhere?

The Pirellis definitely ride rougher after 15k. Every little bump is harsh. I'm at 22k and its brutal.
