It’s hard to remember that far back but I’d say new Pirellis and new ATIII have about the same noise volume but different pitch. If memory serves, the Pirellis were higher pitch. Neither are distracting when new.How does the noise compare to new Pirelles? (not worn Pirelles).
Thank you. My Pirellis are at 15k and seem very loud now. They also seem to ride rougher, but this part might just be psychological. It’s hard to remember that far back but I’d say new Pirellis and new ATIII have about the same noise volume but different pitch. Toyo released LT variant before SL, in 275/65Hi all just stumbled on this thread as im almost ready to replace my stock 20s with 24k. Still have about 8/32nd tread left but they are loud. OP mentioned he has the Toyo AT III EV in LT. Is that how it was made a few months ago? I ask because now its either LT thats E rated, or the SL that is actually the EV model. the SL is 13lbs lighter than the LT, which also comes with 13.5/32nds tread rather than the LT's 16.5 /32nds saving in weight.
as of today 2/10/25, i'm debating on these Toyo AT III EV in SL, or the new bridgestone dueler Ascent tires. The ascents arent EV rated but they are low rolling resistance and E rated.
Ahhh ok thats good to know.. seems like they just Slapped the EV label on the heavier LT version until they could come out with the EV SL ones. OEMS are SL and they seem to handle sidewall offraoding pretty decently. Ive hit some pretty knarly obstacles with them and no issues. So hoping these SL toyos will be ok too.Toyo released LT variant before SL, in 275/65
The EV variant is a splinter line of the non-EV OC ATIII, with many sizes available and planned. The EV variant is indeed different from non-EV—lower profile shoulder lugs, to minimize air turbulence, and [most likely] a tweak in rubber compound. LT/XL/SL are just differences in tire construction, for sake of different max load requirements.Ahhh ok thats good to know.. seems like they just Slapped the EV label on the heavier LT version until they could come out with the EV SL ones. I put on a prinsu rack and LED bar and the windnoise is pretty loud. My efficiency went from 2.0 down to 1.7ish... So just looking for the best mild AT tire
Have you found the SL275/65/R20 available anywhere?Hi all just stumbled on this thread as im almost ready to replace my stock 20s with 24k. Still have about 8/32nd tread left but they are loud. The Pirellis definitely ride rougher after 15k. Every little bump is harsh. I'm at 22k and its brutal.Thank you. My Pirellis are at 15k and seem very loud now. They also seem to ride rougher, but this part might just be psychological.
