No issues with Level 2 Charging, both Public & at Home, but every attempt at even brand new EA and Chargepoint chargers results in "Unplug & Try Again" messages. even after reboots. These are working chargers with Porsches, Volvos, Ioniqs, etc successfully plugged in, FYI. Anyone else experiencing this?

I experienced the same thing while on my first roadtrip back in July. Tried every fast charger between Cincinnati and Dayton. Ended up having to stay the night at a hotel with a slow charger that Rivian luckily picked up the tab. Went in for service and there was a defective module they had to replace. Took a week to diagnose and then a day or two to get it and swap out.

The older EA plugs can be loose when connecting to the vehicle. Try putting pressure on plug after plugging in and wait a minute or two to see if charging starts. I've had to do this in the past on other EVs.

Thanks, but these are brand new.

I assume you have called EA? It's most likely an issue with your truck, but...

Yes, and they tried rebooting their machine remotely, despite it not throwing any error codes. And other EVs successfully used the same charger before and after I tried. Problem with R1T, seems like.

You are not alone in this issue, nor as far as I can tell is it specific to the R1T. I have an R1S and live in Seattle and am spending the weekend up in Canada (Vancouver, BC) and have been experiencing the same issues (exactly) on the DC fast chargers up here. No issues with up to 50 kW on 'ChargePoint' provisioned systems but can't get anything on the fast side (200 kW+) to work. The only provider in this area for that level of charging is Petro Canada so I plan to try an EA charger on the way back to Seattle tomorrow to see if this is a 'Rivian/Petro Canada' issue or whether I'm one of the unlucky ones who has a defective charging module (or whatever the replacement part is). If it works on EA then likely an issue specific to Petro Canada/Rivian wheras if it doesn't likely a hardware problem. I too have tried all the resets etc. to no avail.

It's a good idea to make sure they can DC fast charge before heading out on a road trip. Try it locally. It's not a guarantee but having to spend a night at a hotel because the damn truck/car wouldn't fast charge would make me blow my top.

R1S: I was able to fast charge on a level 3 charger in Port Angeles (SemaConnect)

On several occasions though (level 2) I’ve gotten the failed connection error. Even with my Rivian home charger. After retrying it usually connects/charges.

I’m unfortunately getting the exact same error.

R1T VIN 98xx built 7/2022

Read this thread earlier today. Have a getaway with light off-roading planned for this coming weekend. Took @Tahoe Man’s advice and decided to test charge locally. Tried two different EA locations and 6 different charging stations today. Saw these same charging stations charge an I3, Ioniq 5, Polestar, and LEAF.

Same exact errors as @BHWhite even after resets. I even tried a Chargepoint 50 kW station nearby. It connected, verified payment, then tried to charge but failed leaving me with a red ring around the charge port. Was on the phone with Rivian service for about 20 minutes troubleshooting. It’s been kicked up to diagnostics.

I’m sure it’ll be fixed but I’m still extremely disappointed. Will probably cancel the trip because the whole point of us trip was to off road in the R1T and gather firewood in some remote Northern Arizona forests under my friend’s permit.

On the other hand, better to find this out locally now rather than this weekend. There were 3 fast charging stations along my planned route on which I would have depended.

Mine is xxx8542. I have a service appointment this week for this and a couple other minor issues.

If you got still having this same issue. Try level 2 charging for 20 minutes or a few miles and then try leve 3. on my Nova Scotia trip had similar issue that's when found the work around.

Good luck
