Every single one of us should be hassling our guides until they elevate this issue. We have proof. It should be an easy software fix. Not cool Rivian. Fix it now.
I'm sure if it's easy they would have fixed it.

I agree we should let them know, but hassling a guide is a d* move. They're so far removed from the people who can make changes.

It's like berating a teller at a bank for an issue cause by corporate.

Lol, I'm sure if it's easy they wound have fixed it
Pretty obvious it's temperature set. You don't think that is software controlled? I suppose it could be in the housing itself, then that would require a new part.

I believe F65 (Heated Wiper Park) is used for a small strip where the wiper blades 'park' to prevent them from icing up. Not particularly unuseful but shouldn't be on all the time for sure. F63 might be the auto dimming feature of the rearview mirror?
Both those are close in distance to that camera so it would make sense that they share a fuse. From the FLIR it's obvious the wiper heater circuit is the culprit. It may be only evident since the camera is on top and the snow keeps piling up on the wipers. Pulling the F65 fuse and comparing is a good way for someone to start. Easier if they have an ammeter and cold weather though.

So I understand the wiper heaters but is there a camera in the rear view mirror that's using all that power? didn't know there way anything there.

Didn't mean to steal your thunder, but I had mine handy. As you can see, the garage is around 35 or so and that camera wants to be heated to the upper 50s. This would line up with people having less vampire in warmer areas. This is with gear guard off.

...and besides the heated glass, there's a heater in the grill probably for the rest of the self driving forward sensors that's always on!

If this is it then the fix is super easy. Either they can control the heater in software; or if they can't then it is trivial to pull the fuse, put it in a fuse holder with spade ends and jump the load of circuit F65 to a spare line in the box that is switched with ACC/ON mode. I'd look at F13, F43, F51 as hopeful switched circuits that are unused but might have large enough wire gauge to them.

I can go overnight without losing anything. I see more fluctuation from temperature variations (1-2% up or down).

It really does seem to be vehicle-dependent. Some have awful vampire drain. Others don't.

It's funny, because my R1T has a TON of issues... But not vampire drain and my powered tonneau still works.
Hi,
That is a scary statement. "a ton of issues" What type of issues does your R1T have?

Just a datapoint: Parked my R1T in the DTW Big Blue Deck for 8 days. Left it at 71% SOC, got home late last night at 61% SOC. About 1.25% loss per day parked.

Any idea what average temps were while it was sitting there?

Over 16-day trip early this January and logged 1.9% phantom battery drain per day.

Gear guard off, no plug in charge, no camp mode, indoor garage circa 55F temps, Software v 2022.47.0. VIN 7800's

Left vehicle 85% SOC with 251 miles of range, returned to 59% SOC and 174 mile of range.
Latest 14-day comparison Mid March saw phantom drain of 1.5% daily.

Same conditions as above case but now on software v 2023.6.2.

Departed with 62% SOC and 192 mile range, returned 14 days later at 48% SOC and 151 mile range.

Will do similar updates with software changes.

Put the vehicle into shipping mode this morning and just tested with the FLIR camera. Looks like this mode does indeed shut off all the camera and sensor heat. Will test again in a few hours as well as check if the range loss is much less when I check that out tomorrow morning.
