So don’t use it bro. Nobody cares. Walk around, scroll through the forums, raw dog it. Obviously a lot of people are excited about it and will use it regularly. I’m sure Tesla would’ve eliminated the feature if it wasn’t used on the regular as well. It’s proven to be something that drivers want.I just don’t get the use case. I’m going to pay for connect+ so I can watch a show for.20 minutes will I charge on the road?
Most people charge at their home. When are they going to watch a show in their vehicle?
I just don’t understand why this is important to Rivian owners.

Ok, so when will you use it?It’s not just functional when charging.

Here's some data to think about:I just don’t get the use case. I’m going to pay for connect+ so I can watch a show for.20 minutes will I charge on the road?

True, but it is only functional while parked. It’s not just functional when charging.
It’s the 2% number that hangs me up. Feature requires connect+, $14.95 a month. And for me it’s less that 2%.Here's some data to think about:
- In 2023, Electrify America recorded over 10 million charging sessions
- Electrify America has a 10% share of the charging market
- Napkin math puts that at 100 million charging sessions in 2023
- Average fast charging session is 42 minutes.
- More napkin math puts that at 4.2b minutes at chargers
- Rivian has a 5% EV market share
- Even more napkin math makes that 210 million minutes Rivian's spend at public chargers a year.
As someone that does 98% of their charging at home, and 2% of charging while on road trips with 2 kids, I can tell you that this update is a big improvement for our family. Yes, it only affects that small 2% of charging that we do, but it makes the experience 10x better. We're very excited.
If you don't use public chargers, thats okay, this features isn't for you. But the data shows that there ARE people that use public charging infrastructure and this feature is a HUGE quality of life improvement for those people.
The trend is referred to as “rawdogging” a flight and it basically means foregoing any of the in-flight perks—no in-flight entertainment, no snacks or beverages from the carts rolling through the aisles, and, in the most extreme cases, no drinking water or napping.“Raw dog it” - Inigo Montoya: “You keep using that word. I don’t drive a Tesla, so I don’t care what they do.
I know a lot of people are excited, I never question that drivers want it, I’m asking why?
as one member stated, it’s cool. Ok, I made my entire career in technology, I appreciate cool tech. I just wanted to get use cases from the people that think it’s cool.
