To follow up on this, I was contacted by a Rivian guide this afternoon, asking if I was still interested in upgrading to the Gen 2. I told her I was, but that the current incentives weren’t enough to get me out of my “extremely good” Gen 1 lease.

She asked what I was looking at as far as configurations, and said she’d give it a shot. I told her (Gen 2 Dual Max, flexible on colors, but no All Terrain package). That was the last I heard from her…

I had a similar call from Rivian. At the end of the day the trade-in offer on our Gen 1 lease would have left us almost $12k upside down on a new lease. Unless they basically wiped out the negative equity, I'm not trading in my lease 18 months early.

I'm in a similar boat. A few months ago, they offered almost even on the trade, now they are about 9k under the buyout price. I made a last minute offer this morning to take whatever 2025 inventory they have locally at my current lease price. Not expecting a response.

Really sorry to hear that didn't land It's a bummer when local inventory is there but the lease numbers just don't work out
