Well...as someone who last weekend did the loop from Mercer Island, to Leavenworth, to Mazama, and back through Newhalem...the charging in Cle Elum isn't too bad - there's a public EV station literally next to a Tesla setup with maybe 8 chargers (and next to a coffee shop with bathroom) so I think Cle Elum will be covered once the Tesla partnership plays out. Snoqualmie Pass - there is a public station there but it's slow - I agree that would be a good location. The biggest opportunity is a RAN somewhere in the Twisp/Winthrop/Mazama area - Mazama would be the most "on-brand" I think - and I'm pretty sure the Country Store would go along with it. Twisp would probably be easier to get built than Winthrop.

FWIW there is a station at Inn at Mazama for the Inn and their rentals. I used a 50' cord and a dryer plug adapter to charge at the cabin we rented (I had to drop the 34A down below 30A every time I plugged in though).
Folks really need to check out campgrounds for extended distance trips. We just did a Kitsap-Wenatchee-North Cascades trip with no fast charging and all campgrounds. Pearrygin Lake State Park outside Winthrop has both full hookups and partial hookups, so lots of options. Charging to 100% and even with 20" ATs on the loaner, we made it back to Kitsap peninsula on a single charge.

In REI usually doesn't have amenities I'd want in a charging situation so no thanks.

Lack of food options is an opportunity. You can sell grilled cheese or bacon dogs to the hungry rei shoppers and fellow Rivian owners. Just don’t forget to offer veggie/vegan options. I will gladly purchase as many chili cheese bacon dogs that you can cook up during your charging session.
I wonder if the community would be upset if someone ate up a stall with an Amazon EDV converted into a full electric food truck

Did you need anything special for the portable charger to work on pedestal power?

I’ve seen scattered reports where some are needing adapters (or campgrounds are saying no EV charging )

No rules against it in Washington State Parks, and no adapter needed. They normally have 14-50 NEMA for the RVs anyway. Most campgrounds I ask before plugging in and they never hesitate to approve, they usually have more questions for me.
