What might the impact be of Ford "joining" Tesla?

As an eminent R1T owner, two weeks is my hope, I wonder about the above.

If more automakers follow suit it would be hard to not join an established system, instead of breaking the system, like Riv is doing.

How could that impact future charging station deployments? Of course no one can truly tell the future, but I think good to discuss, debate, respectfully..
