1.Profit margin and decreasing Rivian's losses. The enduro is house made and therefore likely cheaper than the quad Bosch units.So they just announced a Max pack for the R1S with a dual motor configuration. I don't Understand why they would not offer it for the Quad?
Is it a space issue? I feel like a quad motor max pack config would be the holy grail...
The issue people raise is that quad motors cannot truly mimic the behavior of a differential in some low traction situations. (Note that I am not referring only to a locked differential). A further, but less well-proven quad limitation is that the truck can only put the power of a single motor to any given tire, and a single enduro motor may have more power than a single Bosch.Thx for replying . Can you elaborate on "If it helps, it is likely you will have better offload performance than a quad motor from what people post on the margins as at least half the tires CAN spin at exactly the same rate. "
