"Brand new Rivian transported from North Carolina for me to perform paintless dent removal. The customer was told by the only certified shop near him that the repair would require a bedside replacement which was quoted around $40k. Insurance wanted to TOTAL this vehicle due to the high cost of repair.

The customer did his research and ultimately referred to me to perform this repair. These vehicle are very difficult to work on due to the limited access to the backside of the damage. We were able to repair the dent using paintless dent removal and maintain the factory parts and finish, as well as prevent a stain on the carfax. We had the vehicle in our possession for 3 days, which is a way better cycle time, than it sitting in a body shop for possibly a month or more."

$800 is the low and $6,000 is the high PDR range... where are the other PDR quotes coming in at? Are they closer to the low end or the high end? Are the $800 and $6,000 number outliers?

I’ve only received 2 quote. I’m waiting on the body shop quote and one more PDR guy is coming to look at it tomorrow. Oh, I got one more estimate for $461 from an online form I uploaded pictures to.

Matt is awesome. I just received my R1T with a very similar dent in the you tube video. He let me drop off the truck on a Sunday and drove me to Budget rent a car. The cost was less than 5,000.00. Quotes from the authorized rivian collison center were twice as much and required cutting the frame near the back door in order to repair the dent. I have attached photos. The photos show a blemish that doesn't exist near the bumper. Absolutely awesome work

For those living near the New York tri-state area, I had a similar experience. Our parking garage put a dent in the back right corner of our R1S. The Rivian-approved body shop in NYC said it would cost at least $13,000 after seeing the photos. They said they needed to order the entire right-side panel of the car from Rivian. Cut off the back quarter and replace the back quarter of the car, then bondo and paint. After some research, I managed to find a PDR shop in New Jersey that could handle the task. They held our car for 5 days and did a fantastic job. See before and after photos. The company name is DentCo Paintless Dent Removal, 973 903-0826. The owner's name is Anthony.

The dent was caused by the garage attendant where I parked the car. To avoid filing with the insurance companies and raising our premiums, the garage agreed to reimburse $3K, which is much cheaper than the $13K initially quoted by the Rivian-approved body shop.
