I looked into both XCare and Rivian Cares but don’t think either addresses what I’m looking for if I understand them correctly. I’m worried about repeated suspension problems and it looked like both plans only cover an item once and then for the second instance you are on your own. I might have misunderstood though. Please let me know if I didn’t read them correctly.

The Xcare contract I have from last year doesn’t limit replacements of the same component.

I just read the Xcare contract docs and I do not see anything about multiple issues with the same component. Again, the only limiting factor I see is they will not make a repair that is more than the value of the vehicle based on JD Powers Clean Trade In Value. Looks like we need a bunch more insight on this to educate us all…

Thanks appreciate it, I must have misread it.

I just purchased Rivian Care for 5yrs/200K miles. Essentially takes me out to 9.5 years of covered ownership. Definitely worth the piece of mind.
Just curious, do you mind sharing the price you paid and was it a zero deductible ? RIVIAN Care currently not available in my state but hoping that changes when I'm faced with this decision with my Gen2 RIT

I have updated the thread title and posted in my OP the new intent of this thread. RivianCare is now available in 48 states. At least many of us have another option!

I've heard Rivian Care is only available now for brand-new vehicles bought directly from Rivian, but I was actually able to sign up for it for my R1S last year that I purchased from a third-party seller. I ended up getting the 72-month Vehicle Service Contract and the 48-month Preferred Vehicle Protection.

I am not quite at 24 months with my R1T. Not really racking up the mileage on it (still under 15k miles). I'm kicking the tires on the Rivian Care (available in RI) for consideration.

Why not share with the entire class?
Because it's like sharing what I pay for insurance. There are so many variables (length of factory warranty remaining, existing mileage, annual miles driven, amount of deductible selected, etc.) that my price has no correlation to what somebody else is likely to pay...which is basically what I DM'd to BMCORN.

But since you asked :). I'm paying $3,200 for my 5 year plan...spread out over 24 monthly, interest-free payments.

Did Rivian reach out to you? Or what was the process like? Got my through third party also but under impression I couldn’t get Rivian care so interested on how you were able to get yours

Hey everyone 2022 R1T with 77,704 miles currently. I am pretty convinced of getting the extended warranty but am trying to decide between Xcare and Rivian Care. My original plan was to sell my R1T and buy the R2 (which ironically was invited today to submit my order). I've already had one damper issue that was about $1,500 to repair. and just outside of the 60,000 mile warranty. Lesson learned there. I plan to keep my R1T another 3-4 years and reevaluate the EV landscape at that time.

Moving forward, I was looking at these two options:

Xcare - 4 years, 75,000 miles, $0 deductible, covered until 152,704 miles
Price $9,110

Rivian Care - 4 years, seems to be 200,000 miles, $500 deductible, covered until 200,000 miles
Price $10,483
*If I move to a $0 deductible for RC the price jumps to $21,490

Rivian care also gives one time warranty for some additional items like brake pads, rotors, alignments, etc.

I see pro's and con's to both insurers, but have never really dealt with extended warranty before. To me, I do get some peace of mind with Rivian Care given its integration through your account page. The $0 deductible seems great but with the price difference between that and Rivian Care does leave me a bit skeptical about what they may end up covering.

Any insights in to anyone's experience with warranty work covered by either would be greatly appreciated!
