I had planned to do the whole body in Stealth, but I think I'll go for this option at first. In a couple of years I can go full stealth if I want.

I don't know much about PPF but can't, for the life of me, understand why they're not wrapping the headlights and light bar with this option. Just add it in and make it $2k, or whatever.

It may help to shop around just to make sure. For me, a fellow R1T owner recommended a local shop that does XPEL and Rivian recommended. They did full edge wrap front end which includes everything up front - bumper, fog lights, light bar, headlights, hood, fenders, door handles, mirrors, and they even threw in the upper tailgate area for $1600. So there are no exposed edges (except for the tailgate strip they did for free - i just didn't want finger prints/scratches from pushing that upper area all the time closing the tail gate)

I think I paid like $75 at my local PPF installer to have the lightbar/lights done.

it would be more convenient if it was done before you got it.

So is this being done at factory then? If so, thats great, but if there is a prob with install does the service center fix it?

I heard something about you can’t modify lights at the factory. So you can “after market” cover the lights, but not if coming directly from Rivian.

Upside from Rivian would be already done at delivery and included in cost.

Downside would be, no stealth option, no lights covered, and increase cost “could” affect tax refund?

The major upside to having PPF factory applied near the assembly plant:

-Truck is protected from day one of ownership
-No appointment necessary
-PPF falls under the Rivian 5/60k warranty

I wouldn't do any PPF without proper prep and paint correction first and the factory probably will skip that before slapping that XPEL on...

I’ll probably add it, but I want to do ceramic as well. Local place will do full paint correction first, then apply ceramic. I’ll probably get a few quotes to see how much more they are.

I just added the factory front paint protection to my current configuration. I was surprised to see when I added the new optional factory paint protection my Rivian wall charger and all weather floor mats had inexplicably unselected from my configuration and I had to select those options again. Check your entire configuration to ensure nothing else changed if you are adding factory paint protection to your existing configuration!
