Day 1, about 10-20 minutes in. I am 3 miles from a service center. I am driving a 23 year old Explorer. It was towed on 6/9 (ironic) and I barely made it to my garage on 6/15. I just replaced the alternator.

I went mountain biking today, and it was the first time I was deep in the mountains since March. I suspect my torque converter has been failing for a while, but it struggled so badly today, that after getting home I decided I would never take it to the mountains again.

My current plan is to see where I am on the invitation list , only commute to work or within 10 miles of home, and then if it's going to be too long I'm going to buy a plane ticket to borrow a vehicle from my father, then drive it 600 miles, get my r2, then drive it back, and then fly back.

I'm also happy for others, but I am having frustration at my own situation.
I'm feeling your pain here as I was limping a 20 year old Camry to R2 delivery day until I got hit last week and the Camry is no more. Currently renting a car to get to work but that's not exactly cost effective if the R2 isnt coming for several weeks/months. I am thankful that they gave us a solid date (6/30), but I'm expecting bad news when that email arrives.

I'm happy for all of those who have ordered and getting their VINs and deliveries scheduled, etc etc....

But misery loves company and I'm starting to feel pretty lonely...
I understand the folks with R1s getting to order already, but there seem to be quite a few non-owners as well.... I had an early day one reservation like most others, so I don't know what the other considerations are that we aren't seeing.

So I'm creating this thread for those of us who feel like the sad puppy out in the rain.... where we can commiserate as being a part of the "unchosen" masses.
For those who say "you're just whining..", you're damn right I'm whining, and I'd like to hear from others who feel the same way.
I’m anxiously awaiting my email from Customer Service! I too have a first day reservation and I’m not a current Rivian owner. We’ll see

Day 2 here, not a current Rivian owner but I live relatively close to a Service+Demo Center.

I'm currently in an ICE vehicle that feels like it's ready to conk out on me before the end of the year. Come ooooooon R2 🥺

I ordered in real time as RJ was talking. Coincidentally, I was standing in the Salt Lake City service center having picked up my R1T a half-hour earlier. But even being a first-hour R2 order and an R1T owner, have not gotten an email. So while I feel everyone's pain, I'm sort of relieved I'm not the only puppy in the rain.

BTW, I live most of the year in Wyoming, 4 hours from both SLC and Bozeman service centers. But I live the rest of the year in Washington, DC, so I changed my delivery address to DC. Has not seemed to have paid off.

I'm really sorry, and that's terribly frustrating.
Appreciate it! Thankfully it was a minor accident, and I'm incredibly thankful that i didnt have the little one with me at the time, but the timing could not be worse for R2.

I was way late to the game (March 2026) so not expecting anything soon. However, during my test drive in Scottsdale, I was told the test drive bumps up your priority, and beyond that it's fairly random. So registration order may not matter as much as we think. I want the light color interior so was happy to see that's starting in August.

2022 R1T owner. R2 order on day 1, 8 minutes into the presentation. No invite, but I specifically noted that I was not interested in the Launch, as I have about 10k more miles on my original truck warranty and I would prefer to wait for lidar other other color choices.

I'm one of the R1 owners who hasn't received an invite, likely because I used a different email address for my R2 reservation, and the system doesn't recognize me as an R1 owner. Rivian said they can't reassign it. I love my truck so much that I'm not sure I'm ready to give it up for anything on the road today, but I plan to test-drive the R2 when I get my invite. I just hope the LE in Launch Green is still available.
