How did you receive your scheduled pick up date? Text or Email? I ordered mine 4 days after you (6/28) and received my VIN on 7/15 so maybe I'll be scheduled for August 11. Who knows but it will be interesting. I'm in Arizona also.

When I got my VIN last week, there was no ETA. At the same time a Rivian rep from my local service center reached out via text. I waited a week after initial contact from them (today) and asked for an update and they we're able to get a concrete date of arrival and scheduled me for Aug 11th (which was the earliest).

Aka your local Rivian rep is your best friend.

I received a text and also an email. I think the text came from their call center in Georgia, the email was from my local guide. Likely from both as I did have separate communication with each of them about a few items.

I also just received an automated email confirming that a pickup date was scheduled.

You should get a text and email. It will also show up in your app when you go to the R2.

Took me awhile to make an account and give an update on how they're sandbagging me. I received an email a few weeks back saying I won't even be able to order until December of this year and up to February of 2027. Ouch! My reservation was placed way back in December of 2024. Very disappointing - couldn't be more bummed out about it. I'm near Seattle and have had the launch package configured from they day they opened configuration with just about all options chosen and black paint. And how come there's no extra incentives for Tesla trade-ins?! Seems like a missed opportunity. What do I have to do to get rid of this swasticar?? Anyway, cheers to everyone that got their VIN and a quick turn-around!

Wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone else has had this happen.

1. I was originally assigned VIN 002514 and a delivery date of 7/14/2026.
2. On 7/13 they told me the vehicle was delayed in transit, so they pushed my delivery date to 7/16/2026.
3. On 7/16 they pushed my delivery date to 7/20/2026
4. On 7/17 they said the vehicle is still delayed and they would get back to me with a new delivery date.
5. On 7/18 they offered me at-home delivery on 8/3. I agreed to that. Then they sent me a new purchase contract with a new VIN, this time 004145.

It seems to me that my original VIN must have had a manufacturing defect of some kind. I've seen many other posts about people having their deliveries delayed and rescheduled, across many different delivery locations. (I'm in Illinois, I know of others in Washington and California who had delays.)

Does anyone have a sense of what the real issues are? I just want to know what I need to check very closely at my delivery event.

On the evening of 7/22 my VIN got changed and my previous delivery appointment got cancelled. I'm currently awaiting new scheduling for delivery.

I'm getting annoyed.

EDIT - as I was posting this, new delivery appointment arrived in my Inbox - for the same time as before, on 8/3/2026

Feels like Rivian maybe instructed the service centers to wait until PDI is done before scheduling for a bit since there were so many reschedules.

I'm picking up in Normal and they also said they can't schedule until PDI is complete.

Just got the text for Aug 6th pickup! LFG

Why are people weird about posting the last 5 of the VIN? I see people putting like XX810, which is not very helpful.

Am I missing something? Is there a way someone could parse the full VIN? Is someone going to come rob me and steal my identity and wear my skin for posting the last five?!!

Regardless, I was one of the Half Moon Gray that got canceled. I was originally scheduled for pickup tomorrow

People don't want to post the whole vin for privacy reasons. If they give only a few digits, it gives forums members an idea of when the vehicle was built without tracking down the exact number.

It's actually pretty silly right now as there is only one plant, one production year, etc so the first part of the VIN is likely the same for everyone (and of the handful of complete VINs I've seen, they all match exactly except the sequence number and check digit).

And doing X1234 isn't hiding anything because we know the X is 0 based on the date and the fact they haven't reached 10k vehicles yet. Masking out trailing digits is a little more private, like 031XX, but that still leaves only a few (10s to hundreds) of options, so still relatively easy to guess.

I think the concern is fraudulent use, like insurance fraud or VIN cloning, but it's just as easy to make up an R2 VIN so why would any individual here be targeted specifically?

Talked to the manager of the Pittsburgh SC a few minutes ago and he said deliveries can begin here on July 3.

I was there yesterday for a 2nd 12V battery failure in a week and he said they still hadn't delivered any, but he thought they "might be getting ONE" next week. Sigh.
