I like the 20” wheels however they only come with the all-terrain tires. So my question is even though I’m not an off roader, maybe on a dirt and gravel road now and then, I may occasionally want to take a trip to visit my kids.

But the trip is about 900 miles. Am I gonna be okay with those tires? I know they’re not suited for highway driving, but my long trips would probably only be annual, otherwise I’m mainly gonna use the truck for street and local driving.
Looks like the only option for all season tires is with 21 inch wheels which I really don’t like.

I have the 20s with the Pirelli A/T tires – they're a middle of the range all-terrain and are fine for all-season driving.
There's the "Out of Spec" 70 mph range test (on YouTube) which achieved 2.33 mi/kWh which is above the EPA official mpge of the R1T.
You'll be fine with those wheels and tires, with the option to swap to a road tire when the factory tires expire.

Thanks, that I was my thought too once the AT tires wear out I can swap them out for all season tires. I wonder what the mileage rating is for the all-terrain tires?

Aside from getting slightly less range on a charge, the ATs are perfectly fine on the highway.

And now my decision is do I want the bright or the dark wheels? lol.
I like the LA silver exterior color so maybe the dark wheels would be a nice contrast

what paint?
I chose bright with white – looks great, but "everyone" has white.
I saw a red with bright wheels – looks faster. : )

Tire life goes out the window with a powerful EV … if you drive calmly, maybe the tires will last, but I don't spare the tires, so they last about 15K miles under my Model X. Rears tend to wear out faster. A sensible driver might get 20K miles and still have decent tread depth.

Rivian calls it LA Silver.
I like red but it’s a cop magnet!

If I could get 20K out of the tires, I’d be happy. I don’t do much driving anyway so that’s about 2 1/2-3 years for me.

Nothing is going to stop cops from wanting to stop this rocket sled … : ) … you can paint a Ferrari white or baby blue … the boys in blue will still ticket you …

20" has many more aftermarket options than 21"
