Okay, it was by the repeating arrow icon that said something about quoting but then it also says that you're retweeting. Clear as mud..

The point of the retweet is to increase the “score” of the original. Tweets with high retweet counts are more likely to show up in your twitter feed and companies can use it as a signal of which tweets are getting attention and need to be reviewed.
