$30k?? Show me one selling for $30k above MSRP and you’ll get a line of dealers out the door that will turn around and list it for $150k.

A slower Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo 4S goes for $130k-$150k with a year wait so you can do the math here …

A couple of funny things in the listing.

1- Off roading is not allowed.
2- The owner has several Tesla's on Turo and it appears he copy/pasted his rules since he claims he can follow the car from the Tesla app and will limit your speed if you exceed 85mph. Unless I'm missing something, there is no such feature in the Rivian.

But hey, looks like he's made a business out of renting out EV's. I'm sure there are people who will pay it.

I put my Rivian on Turo last week for $300 a day with 150 miles included range. I also offer a $20 "fillup" option to make it even easier on folks.

So far I've already rented it twice, both to folks looking to test drive prior to reserving. Both put reservations down after the rental.

I'm located in Charleston, SC and expect that I may get more interest when tourist season ramps up from higher end clients who just want something unique.

You joke, but I average 3 test drives and 5 tours a week from total strangers just walking up to me in public. Between my neighbor and the 2 Turo rentals I have a confirmed 3 referral reservations to my name already.

I keep touch with my guide and he loves it. I got a
surprise swag box in the mail last week, so I guess they do appreciate what I'm doing.

Glad to see options like this out there. The prices will stabilize.

I paid several hundred dollars a day to Turo a Model 3 for a weekend when they were brand new - we were interested in buying one but it was easily 3x more than we'd paid for a vehicle and the idea of doing that based on a fifteen minute supervised test drive seemed crazy. We wanted to try it for a real road trip, live with supercharging, etc. We reserved one immediately after.

Honestly, it would be cool for companies like Rivian to rent directly with a "demo ski" model - complete a Rivian purchase afterwards and we'll subtract up to three days of rental fees from the purchase price... (Obviously there's no demand constraint now, but down the road it would be a great way to persuade folks.)

AHHH! I'm only about 3.5 hours from you. Really need to resist the urge for a weekend trip to Charleston for some R1T action and Lewis Barbecue.
