There are enough delivery evidence that suggests early line stander is no guarantee of early delivery. There are simply too many out of sequence deliveries.

Recent interview with TonyC suggests that they did some out of sequence deliveries to test out various scenarios with the R1 Shop. Hopefully that means we will start to see deliveries in an order that aligns more with our expectations going forward. I'm not going to hold my breath as Rivian is obviously continuing to evolve and adapt the process based on feedback and conditions which should be a good thing long term.

Unfortunately, we do not have the actual variables which contribute to being chosen first. I ordered day one, ordered the launch color with black mountain and live in Los Angeles. I was originally March/April, now Oct/Dec. I had though originally that they were focusing on initial deliveries of the R1S in less populated areas, but I've seen two R1S VINS with order dates later than mine, in Launch Green in Los Angeles, and San Francisco. So, it must be a computer algorithm, or someone selecting. I've tried to get a better understanding from my Guide, but to date, no-one can explain the process, so we just wait...

To add another outlier to the list: I was told back in March that I was June/July and haven't heard anything since. I have a father in law that lives in NM like me that got his R1T in June. I talked to CS and they acknowledged my delivery window and lack of info and said sometime this summer I would hear more about when.
