When Rivian says it's go-time, can you drag your feet and postpone the process? Or will your window simply close? Say mine was ready in the middle of winter but I wanted to wait until spring?

Also...maybe giving them more time to polish up assembly, etc. I feel like they continue to make improvements.

Thoughts?

For a while the only 2 options to delay were selecting OC and/or Max Pack. At this point, Max pack still seems to be an option to delay delivery.
Have you reached out to them and asked? Do you have an order? A proposed delivery ā€œdateā€?

picked up mine this week. VIN 98XX.

I've gone over and over the car trying to identify build quality issues to submit a ticket for. I havent been able to find anything yet, its practically flawless. There is one weatherstripping part that is rolled outwards in front of the passenger door, but I was able to reshape it to the direction its supposed to be with a little heat.

I admittedly haven't had a ton of time driving it yet, only about 300 miles so far. But no concerns or issues yet.

Unless you are waiting for a particular color, I wouldn't intentionally delay a delivery. It seems to have been dialed in, significantly better build than my two Teslas.

They are saying Nov Dec...just thinking I could wait till spring. We have tough winters here. Chances are I'll be too excited to wait, ha.

Yes, I've had to delay mine for a few months and it's been no problem. I still have my reservation and even completed my $100 commitment during the delay.

Been living in the shadows for a while, but checking in to share this: with the context that this information came from a CS chat, I think I've effectively delayed my order indefinitely.

I have a Dec 2021 Explore build that I've let go into "inactive" status as of Sept 1 by not configuring a valid build (ie. Adventure pkg). The way it was explained to me, my order lives that way, with my original pre-order date (and pricing??ā€ā™‚), until I configure a deliverable R1T; at that time, my order will go on the schedule. I can only assume I'd be at the mercy of whatever timeline they deem appropriate. I'm unsure how long they'll allow my "inactive" order before they hold my feet to the fire. It also sounded like if I was contacted by a guide, I could work with them to delay my order, but who knows.

Will be a much better build.

Once I had a phone call with my guide I told him my requirements and he noted it in my customer record. It's been all good so far. My guide, until he took a new job with Rivian, would respond to any emails I did send him. I haven't had any need to contact whomever the new guide is.

I hope I am delayed because I would prefer a 2023 at this point. We are so close to the end of the 2022 model year. My guess is they are going to shadow Tesla with anything produced through 12/31 of this year will be a 2022.

My current configuration, OC interior and 20ā€ black chrome wheels, might help ensure that?

If you are just trying to slow things down without asking Rivian to do it, change your configuration to max pack with a manual tonneau then change it back when you are ready :giggle:

So close?…..we have 4 months of 2022 left. ?. Just messing.

I honestly couldn’t have delayed this thing for any reason when I got the call. This is honestly an amazing vehicle.
