I know it seems minor and stupid.... But, I got the truck last week and have loved it. I tried to pop the gate open and I had to nudge it to get it down. Not a deal breaker and I really don't want to make a ticket, has anyone else found a quick fix for this?

Got my truck last week. Same issue. Tailgate worked fine for about 3 days, now I have to pry it open when by hand after hitting the release button.

My tailgate cables are also uneven so when the tailgate is down all the weight is on one cable.

I had this issue. Logged a ticket and got it addressed by service center. Been fine since.

My issue is when the cover is back it does not push on the gate and does not drop on its own. I also looked at it closer and noticed the spare tire lid catches the hinge cover when putting it up.

Maybe there’s an improvement available like others have noted but I did notice that the owners manual indicates that its gravity based so if you are on an incline it won’t open fully on its own. That’s certainly been my experience in my driveway. Otherwise it works fine when level. Not sure if that is spec or if it’s supposed to give it a “push” when releasing.

I assume the cover pushes on the gate to help it seal and prevent someone from using a hook to open gate

Mine also only opens on it's own only about half the time.... Adjusted twice by Rivian service. I've just gotten used to using two hands. One to push the button, the other to lightly pull on the tailgate.

In the scope of things, not that big of a deal. I find it much more annoying that when loading/unloading in the tailgate area, the truck keeps locking and unlocking.

I have the same issue. Some times it pops but I usually have to push the button a few times. I submitted a ticket.

I had mine in for service for this issue twice (for other items too) until they finally got it resolved. First time it worked for a week then came back so not sure what to expect for length of fix. It’s back at SC today for the binding on spare tire cover when closing. Third time for that. Also hoping to get the tonneau cover fix.

I got to looking at my spare tire cover last night when I was grilling outside. the cover does not want to close on the right side at times. I slowly let the cover down last night and pressed it firm but didn't slam it. That seemed to do the trick. It latched both sides down and was flush then. I may stop popping that cover up to show people when they ask about the truck. In all I am still finding features I didn't know existed so I didn't want to submit a ticket till I had a list or found the work arounds I can deal with. Closest SC is 4 hours away so I don't want to add to the mayhem until I can justify the trip and their time.

I cured my tailgate not dropping with a different approach. I put in a bed liner (Tractor Supply horse mat) and cut it so that it put a slight pressure on the tailgate. Not hard to close and always pops open when the button is pushed.

Is it the latch that needs adjustment or is it something to do with the spring loaded cover that covers the gap between the tailgate and truck bed? This cover seems to put pressure on the tailgate and may actually be used to push it open.
