And only 1 of those have built a truck. I don’t think the ford lightning has an option for a 400 mile range version.

Show me where ford said they are making a 400 mile version of the lightning. They haven’t even claimed that. And since everyone is still battery constrained they will realize you can make 4 300 mile trucks vs 3 400 mile trucks. Makes good business sense to make more trucks when you have a large backlog.

EMOORE ... I will ask again .... what did you order in detail and when was that order placed with Rivian ?
And BTW a shell game with customers is NOT GOOD BUSINESS SENSE is it ?

After seeing the continued delays (and possibility of it still being "vapor") I'll most likely be buying another ICE truck. Wonder how many others are thinking the same way? ?

Decided today to pick up a LR Defender V8. Tired of waiting & also think it will be '25 before the Max Pack is available......if ever.

Shouting into the void won't make max pack come sooner. Obviously a drag but the engineering is challenging given weight vs existing battery chemistry. There is a possible win here, if you check out that interview just posted on rivian stories, Tony referred to new info for max packers forthcoming in a couple weeks. He mentioned new battery chemistry, if that means move to LiFepho that's a win given better battery longevity and dual motors certainly means longer range with possibility of marginal decrease in performance.

4 wheel independent motors is far superior for off-road. Losing the discount to shift to dual motor also is ridiculous as well.

Hope for different chemistry solving the problem here is like dreaming of max pack in the first place.

Best position for now is to sit tight with max pack order and continue to bug guides every couple weeks about timelines and suggesting canceling if max pack doesn't materialize. Competition will heat up and Rivian will react or go out of business. Nothing personal against RJ, but he's gotta deliver product that meets spec.

9-12 month wait for the V8 model, but you can find the six relatively easy in our area (GA). My V8 is coming from CA, paying a premium over msrp to obtain quickly.

I can get an ICE vehicle with near equivalent performance of a dual motor for off road... and vastly less expensive too. Don't plan on it... yet, but the wife is getting impatient.

Just canceled my order. Feel like Chevy Chase in Vacation were my ordered car didn’t come in and I’m offered some random leftover from the lot. I won’t end up with the Family Truckster. I own a Tesla with a longer range. I don’t want to spend $90000 on an “Adventure” vehicle I’ll leave in the garage for longer trips. Kinda fun to shop now. More than a bit annoying Rivian waited to pull this @&#% until the professional edition G Wagens in my area had sold… The Raptor R and Sierra EV look interesting. Really pissed off by this. Just insane of a company to spend two years working on me to buy into their brand to throw it away in one press release.

Definitely tempting. Faith in a company delivering on promises is almost as important as profitability ?.

I'm almost tempted to put down 3-4 additional max pack orders just to bump demand numbers. Figure that you can always cancel before they deliver... not like there's any rush.
