I take it if we go with the replace the panels option the running boards would need to be removed (to remove the panels) to jack the truck up if not using the puck jack points?

Correct. I have said many times, 100% no issue if you'd like to cancel if you don't like it. Everyone moves 1 order closer to getting theirs fasterThanks for sharing. It seems like the original design (flat pancake bracket-free) was superior from an aero and keeping the stock plastic panels perspective. There will be some sort of aero hit from the drag created by those eight airstream blocking brackets you chose to go with. I would expect some wind noise as well. How much is anyone’s guess - until customer’s start reporting…
@EV Sportline
So, the Optional aero solution you previously mentioned was modifying and reusing the Rivian plastic covers?
If we decide these are not for us, what’s the process to request a refund on the pre order, order?
Steel-it is listed as flat black. I find it more of a satin finish. Definitely not as deep black or shiny as most powder coats. It is not for everybody. I like it because it is durable, easy to touch up, and can be welded on.How "Black" is black STEEL-IT?

I agree, the no-weld look is certainly cleaner. That was one of my first comments back in November. My thought however, was possibly welding them underneath instead of on top. Hadn't thought of a "bolt-on" option. Will reserve judgment until we see the final product as your notes indicated the bolts shown are not what will be used. First glance, not a fan of the bolts sticking up, but will see what the final product looks like.Gang - here are a few pics:
Close-up of the tread. We are planning for a bolt-on tread design. The bolt-on design is a premium design (added brackets (which are welded) and hardware), where you actually don't see any welds by design. Lesser / lower end steps have exposed welds. I know some folks say they like the welded look, but with the right fasteners (those shown before were NOT production fasteners - disregard those! They are just temporary), this looks really nice / OEM grade.

Note - there are a few small tweaks to the design feature - not shown here (the outer square is going to be more star shaped like the inner star. Need to respect our friends at Rivian, and we don't want to tread too close to their design!
here is the back door entrance (disregard the bolts, those are not the final bolts!). Shoe for scale - that is a size 9 mens ha ha.

As for the design features, we specifically have these open through, so they dont collect dirt. If we plated the bottom, these features would fill with dirt and grime and be impossible to keep clean. This open through design is super easy to clean and keep nice, while providing sufficient grip. I tested it bare foot, ha ha - feels okay

Based on the CAD screenshot, yes. The boards would need to be removed (so the plastic panels can slide over the brackets the boards are now attached to) , if not using the jack pads.I take it if we go with the replace the panels option the running boards would need to be removed (to remove the panels) to jack the truck up if not using the puck jack points?
You lost me here. I'm looking for running boards, that I don't have to mess around with once they are installed, if I have to change a tire a tire on the truck. So, please tell me again if the current design allows me to do that? Many thanks...Based on the CAD screenshot, yes. Correct - running boards will NOT adversely impact your ability to jack up the truck. You lost me here. There will be no surprises - we'll carefully manage each order, making sure everyone is up to speed on everything and confirms before we ship. Gang, we're going to take care of all of you - promise.Appreciate the details @EV Sportline!
If we did decide to cancel a pre-order, can the "drop dead" date be shared of when to do so?
Only if you use the jack pucks - or choose not to reinstall the modified plastic panels.Correct - running boards will NOT adversely impact your ability to jack up the truck.
With Jack pads, yes. If you don’t reinstall the plastic panels, yes. If you choose to reinstall the plastic panels, modified as pictured above, then no (jack pads only). You lost me here. With or without the plastic panels reinstalled, then we dont really know if the running boards will cause excessive wind noise at say 70+ mph? With Jack pads, yes. If you don’t reinstall the plastic panels, yes. If you choose to reinstall the plastic panels, modified as pictured above, then no.
Thanks guys! Got it. Much appreciated. With Jack pads, yes. If you don’t reinstall the plastic panels, yes. If you choose to reinstall the plastic panels, modified as pictured above, then no (jack pads only).
We don’t, but @EV Sportline should, as they have a set installed on their black truck and can easily test and report. With or without the plastic panels reinstalled, then we dont really know if the running boards will cause excessive wind noise at say 70+ mph?

Seems like so many make it too complicated. Jack pucks and such. I use a simple floor jack on the lower control arms to jack up the truck. No need for having a jack that reaches heaven to get the tire off the ground. Simple process. Same method the tire shops have used when taking the truck in to swap out wheels on my truck. No removing plastic panels, fumbling with jack pucks to line them up, etc, etc. But, that's just me.Only if you use the jack pucks - or choose not to reinstall the modified plastic panels.
If customers choose to modify and reinstall the now modified plastic panels (for protection and aero benefits), the CAD drawing provided clearly shows folks will have to unbolt the boards from the new mounting brackets as you need to remove the plastic panels to jack the truck when not using jack pads.
