Oh for f#cks sake! I'm not pointing out ANYTHING. I didn't make the post! I'm not frustrated with anything! You seem to want to argue with me about someone else's frustration post. I am not that person. You guys realize that right? I didn't make that post. I was simply saying that you all missed the point of the person's post. Part of it was his frustration OF HAVING TO COME HERE TO FIND INFO ON HIS ORDER. Again....I DID NOT MAKE THAT POST. I DID NOT QUESTION ANY OF THE THING YOU MENTION. fUCK! (sorry for the cap yelling).

I for one hope they take their time. I want it to be properly tested, especially for any wind noise.

…I expect you to provide me with a simple update if you are going to miss that date.
First and foremost, the vendor never provided hard dates, as they shouldn’t for a pre-production development. Timelines will easily shift. That’s a given. Look at any product on Kickstarter and Indiegogo…

Second, the vendor has provided updates along the way, in this thread. If you’re gonna be like the other guy and complain that you didn’t get an email with updates, take your grievances up directly with EV Sportline, and provide feedback, from your personal experience with product development and production, on how they could improve their communication process.

Last, yes, you paid $799 for a product with the expectation of receiving a product in a timely manner. You and your unhappy compadres are acting like the delivery dates have shifted by an entire quarter, or even longer. So far, most deliveries are being delayed a few weeks at most. The vendor has mentioned early orders have already received units. If you didn’t receive yours yet, you were not an early order.

You bought a Rivian for crying out loud - you should be well-seasoned when it comes to waiting *patiently*.

EV1 has clearly stated, orders can be canceled and refunded at any time.
The fact that they are providing updates on an internet forum is more than most companies will do. As other's have stated, can always e-mail them directly. But, I'm certain that once they know for sure when they'll ship, we'll know when they'll ship. No matter what is said on an internet forum isn't going to magically speed up the time it takes to produce a product. How long did customers wait for Tesla to deliver the Model 3, or Model Y. How about that Cybertruck that was due last year? What about those that paid in full for a Tesla Roadster that was promised in 2020? Constructive feedback on these forums could be useful in giving the company an idea how customers feel about what's being produced and possibly allow them to implement changes in advance, rather than delivering a product that customers aren't happy with and having to return. Whether any of it made any difference? Won't know until we see the final product. But, complaining about the fact that they weren't able to get them out by Christmas as they had "HOPED" to, certainly isn't productive or useful in anyway toward speeding up the time it takes to design and produce a brand new product. As of now, it appears that they'll be the first to market with a product that Rivian should have offered as an option to begin with. Not having running boards on my truck has been my biggest complaint. The fact that a solution is coming in the near term has me excited. I had been CONSTANTLY searching for a solution. Short of having a company fabricate a one-off set for me specifically, which would have cost a fortune, there were no options available until November. I placed pre-orders with companies producing Tesla parts that took well over 6 months to make it to production. Was happy to see that these were expected within a month. Knowing that it's quite rare for any company to actually achieve their early time frame estimates, I always expect that the earliest estimate by the company is likely not going to happen. I appreciate the updates that it does appear that we'll possibly get them within a 2 month time frame from the time they were first announced.

First: If you are going to take payment, or a commitment of payment from me, I expect you to send me an email with an update, just like EVERY OTHER transaction you or I make with someone. I get those from Kickstarter and Indiegogo, so you have no idea what you are talking about. Again, if you are in disagreement, simply paypal me $799 right now. Or STFU.

Second: according to you, this thread is the only place where updates on the product are to be provided, so why would you be telling me to go to the vendor directly for an update? You are contradicting yourself.

Third: Since reading comprehension is clearly not your strength, I will spell it out again for you: I did not set the timeframe for the delivery of this product, the vendor did. To be honest I really like the guys at EV Sportsline - they make cool products that fill gaps. They even offered me a trade-in discount for the 1st gen pucks I bought no questions asked, so I bought the 2nd gen pucks on the spot. And I'm pretty confident they'll deliver the running boards, which is why I gave them more money. However, they set a December delivery date. I did not. All I am asking for is a proactive update if you aren't going to do what YOU SAY you are going to do. Again, that is not unreasonable and is consistent with all other financial transactions. And don't try to draw a really bad analogy to buying a Rivian. Rivian did not take the full transaction amount to make a reservation, they took a 100% refundable $1k deposit (~.01% with no risk).

Fourth: I like what EV Sportsline is doing, I just thought it would be nice to get an email. That was it, but now that you've completely jacked up this thread, I humbly request that you crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of....or you can paypal me $799. Happy New Year.

1. I’m very familiar with how Kickstarter and Indiegogo work, as my comments were a comparative reference on how timelines can shift; not about communication. You can have a W there - yes, these platforms have fantastic communication mechanisms, as products are being delivered to thousands of backers… not 10-15 truck nerds on a forum.

2. I suggested contacting the vendor because the updates provided here didn’t seem to meet your (and others) acceptable criteria for communications.

3. No where did I state anyone but the vendor set the timelines. They’ve provided updates here and you’re mad you didn’t get an email. So very (not) sorry for that injustice.

4. Agree - EV Sportline rocks and they’re very responsive by direct message, should you have issues with any of your products. No thread jacking was intended, but it seems a few of you Karens are fixated on the fact the vendor chose not to distribute updates by email, and it really cracked me up, so I felt the need to defend EV Sportline.

Please accept our indifferences on the many matters discussed. It seems there will be no resolution. God speed.

I hope Team1EV and other companies are taking notes. A product should be further along before accepting orders. I do understand that bad publicity is publicity, but imop 27 pages on a product that is not released is not a good look. Yes we own a Rivian and the purchase process was not walk in and buy. That was for a vehicle. I have started a few companies and created products, but could not begin to understand the undertaking of creating a vehicle. This is a very simple product!

I think the root of all the frustration is inconsistent and conflicting communication/updates from the vendor. Just one example…. Prior to xmas, we got an update and some “teaser” photos. Questions were raised and the vendor’s general response was a “Happy Holiday’s” post. Then, after additional member prompting, we learn (nearly a week later) that he is out of the country, returning after the 1st, and then shut down for a two days to take inventory; also that some customers have received product (even though we were told previously no shipping would occur until AFTER final product is complete, specs known, and installation videos available - so pre orders can decide if this is still for them). And lastly, deliveries in January.

Wasn’t any of this known when we received the pre xmas update and teasers? After all, at that time, running boards were still shipping in December (when he wasn’t even in the country) and over flowing into early January, and everyone was expecting photos, final specs and installation videos….

Go back to page 18 and read forward. That will clearly show stream of conflicting information, prompting, and timelines of said communication.

Bottom line - It is as it appears to be.

Happy New Year! ?

Hey gang, thanks for all the feedback - Rivian Nation is the best! We are working very hard to finish and ship all these running boards and sliders; as promised, we are prioritizing the product design and quality over rushing to ship (we made a few revisions to the designs and bracketry which improved the overall product, everyone benefits here - feedback has been invaluable and voices heard!) - we did deliver the first few in December, did installs and made sure we're covering all bases before the masses. Production parts are underway!

The email update is a great idea, appreciate that suggestion - we will email all reso holders with an update in early January, with updates and pics! Thanks again for the support (and patience!). All pre-order customers earned introductory pricing free shipping and a place in line - that will not last, will turn off free ship this week, pre-orders are locked in!

Note - we also have a few more related new products dropping soon!
