Hey, first post. I have an order for a R1T and cancelled with the price increase, then reimplemented it when they reverted the pricing. I’m in Tallahassee FL and my estimated delivery date just says 2024. My 15 yr old will be driving 2023 summer, so he’ll probably take my car. I knee jerked last week and changed my interior to black from ocean hoping that could move the delivery up some? Was that dumb? Did I just delay it? Is it more related to location and service centers instead of options? Otherwise, the options are pretty simple: white and 21” wheels. I’d probably be interested in the r1 shop as well as I’m not particular about the options.

Anyway, any insight? I’m completely in the dark here. Any help/insight appreciated!!!!

Might help if you tell when you ordered? IMO it is most likely more important to be close to a service center, your ownership experience will definitely be better if there is one nearby. Wouldn't expect interior color to be a big driver at this point.

My understanding is that if you canceled it goes by when you reinstated. Pretty sure that was Feb 2022. Seems like a lot of people from that time frame are getting 2023 deliveries, but also seemed like they were west coast….

I don't think this is true. I think you got to reinstate and get your place back.

My original delivery window was December 22 - January 23. Sometime in October, I believe, my window was updated to July - September 2023. I emailed customer support a week or so later asking if there were any changes I could make to take delivery earlier. 4 days later I got a call from Rivian saying they had my exact truck, minus tonneau and spare tire and asked if I was interested. The truck was in my driveway 3 weeks later.

You are correct it goes back to when you originally ordered. If it didn’t then it would be March 2022.

Not sure that color selection really plays any role. On our recent factory visit there were a number of vehicles of various colors at various stages of completion. My understanding is that they can change paint colors on the fly, so they're not running batches of one color at a time. There are only 3 interior options which also makes things simple. Bottom line, no one can accurately predict. We went from July 2022 to November 2022 to Jan-Feb 2023 only to be contacted in late December that our car was ready for pickup in 2 days. I was literally mid-way through the 8-step and didn't have the cash ready yet but I managed to squeak by. Didn't have any advance notice at all.

That sounds promising. I’m not very particular about how mine is set up ultimately, but need it for work to replace my 2002 work truck and my hybrid car going to my son. Sounds like your inquiry was exactly what you needed to do when you needed to do it. Very helpful thanks!

It’s definitely weighted on your location. I recall some discussion about Florida deliveries here. If I recall correctly, it was determined that the panhandle area is low priority and 200 plus miles from any Service Center, so deliveries are probably not coming soon.

Customer satisfaction and word of mouth go down the toilet if a new owner has issues and has to drive hundreds of miles to a service center. I totally understand Rivian’s position.

Yeah I get it. Don’t like it, but get it. There’s a r1t and r1s locally already that I see all the time.
