Just seeing if anyone have traveled to or from Solvang? I visited the area from Los Angeles. I went up and back down the 154. With a 50% charge on my battery I was surprised my regen was reduced to around 20% driving down the mountain.
I was under the impression regen reduction should only happen when the battery state of charge is over 70%.
Anyone else have experience this as well.

I have seen some odd regen limiting on the last software version. If regen is limited when it’s very cold, I would consider that normal. It should then return as the battery warms. I had one or two instances driving down a mountain in the cold when regen would reduce then come back as the battery got colder then warmed up and back again.

What is considered very cold weather? I believe it was in the 50s and I was driving for about 30-45 minutes prior. This is my first EV so I’m new to all this.
Funny I was in Yosemite in November the weather was down in the 20s after driving the vehicle for a half hour the battery warmed up and the regen worked the whole way down the mountain.
I think your right after update 2022.47.0 my regen started acting up.

Yeah, I would consider “normal” to be colder than 50F, and probably colder than or close to freezing. I haven’t done any mountain driving on the newest update, so we shall see.

Actually it appears regen is limited to about 200 kw if you watch the gauge you'll see if you let off on the peddle at about 50mph it will peg the meter down to the bottom on level ground. Which looks like about 1/3 the upper limit which would be about 600 kw or about 800 hp. Just my guess.
