yeah it's a bit....aggressive. I used my aero covers as a test before going all in on the wheels. For one of the aero covers I did a base of Brass Monkey with 2 light coats of the bronze gold on top and it was darker than what you've got there but it was still too "gold" for me and not the look I was going for.

Exactly lol I wish they could mix a can of that bright cold with that deep copper red, that would be perfect.

Did you consider using the copper metalizer finish on it? I tried it out and came to the conclusion that it wasn't what I was looking for, but the benefit of the metalizer is that you get the more copper tint over the bronze base instead of a pure copper look.

So you cant mix flexdip with plastidip apparently, odd stuff but they are two different products it seems.

Are you talking about this: https://www.dipyourcar.com/collecti...s/copper-metalizer-aerosol?variant=5631654340 My understanding is that you can't use that as a standalone on regular paint or unpainted surfaces, but as long as the surface that you are using it on has a base coat of a rubberized coating like Plastidip or Hyperdip then it is fine. That could be incorrect though and it might only work on Plastidip surfaces.

Finally got around to following through on my intent to dip my factory 21" wheels. I used the kit from DipYourCar that comes with cleaner, brake masking bags, dip release, and 5 cans. Prep wasn't bad, and I ended up doing 3 light dusting coats and 3 heavy wet coats. I went with The Hyperdip brand Brass Monkey to pair with Forest Green. It's definitely not a color you'd use with Red, Black, Blue, or Yellow but with Forest Green I think it looks great. Not the cleanest job but the overall look is good enough for me and much better than the factory 2 tone finish.

Am I correct in assuming the coating on the lug nuts will get shredded during a tire change or wheel rotation? I'm also guessing the lug nut well will also get scuffed up and torn during a wheel change.

I don't have enough experience with Hyperdip on wheels to know for sure how bad it will be on the lug wells but I assume it will get scuffed up to some extent. I made a conscious decision not to tape off the lugs themselves with the expectation that the coating will come off when they are removed. The lugs are pretty close in color to the coating, so I didn't think it would make a big difference one way or another.

Looks great. If I went with Forest Green I wanted bronze wheels (still do on the RC, but my wife strongly objects).

Yeap!

Rivian R1T R1S Plasti Dipped 21" Wheels in Brass Monkey color by HyperDip 1678389983133

So the metallizer is a plastidip and not a hyperdip so cant mix them from what I understood unfortunately.

It looks great. But what happens the first time you do a tire rotation?
