R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

Sorry, I was a little loose with my language. A VIN assignment should end your shop access, not just a confirmed reservation. Here's what my guide wrote when I had shop access: "It expires once you have a VIN assigned or have selected a VIN from the shop. Otherwise, you should have access."

That’s what I thought I had heard across the forum but had me second guessing. I’m was kind of getting torn between getting depressed due to losing shop access (because I just got it) and being excited I may have been that close to my build. Thanks for clarifying

I think that's correct. Soon as I had VIN assigned I lost access, but then the vehicle had issues and was undeliverable so then I got back access.

Congrats on having shop access as a confirmed configuration could still take a few months. Can you supply a screen shot of what’s in the shop or is it still empty?

Makes sense but I'm definitely regretting not preordering the R1S. Was waiting to take delivery of the R1T before preordering the R1S but then the price increased. $15k mistake.

While you don't get "pre-increase" pricing (i.e., $75.5k base), it is my understanding that post-increase reservations do still benefit from the same "free" upgrades that were paint upgrade offered for LE purchases (i.e., LG paint, non-dark 20" AT upgrades, and non-dark 22" upgrades). You also get LE badging (which, as an LE owner, is pretty much meaningless / worthless in my opinion as it's barely noticeable) and the free passive wristband included.

Both of the LE configs posted above have darks so no tire savings on those (darks on LE only make sense if you were buying them anyways since there is no price break for pre-or-post hike orders), and the only real benefit of the two posted are the badging and wristband key (included on both), and the free LG paint on the second one posted, which is likely why they are still there.

Pricing is pretty confusing overall, but for anyone looking to maximize LE saving or value, here's an overview of the "value" (savings) for the "free" upgrades that are available with an LE config (savings are in parenthesis):

• LE Badging* (Value: $0).
• Passive Wristband Key* (Value: ~$200).
• LG Paint* (Value: $0 to $2,500 based on pricing for other paint options).
• 20" AT Upgrade** (Value: $1,800 for pre-hike orders, $2,500 for post-hike orders).
• 20" AT Bright Upgrade** (Value: $1,800 for pre-hike orders, $2,500 for post-hike orders).
• 22" Bright Upgrade (Value: $1,800 for pre-hike orders, $2,500 for post-hike orders).

If your build doesn't have any of the last 4 items, the only "monetary" value / savings for an LE are the included wristband key and the LE badging (if you place a value on that).

NOTES:

• * = indicates only available on LE / not offered at any price on Adventure trims.
• ** = indicates not currently offered on unconfirmed, post-hike reservations (for custom builds) outside of the $3,600 "All-Terrain Upgrade" (which bundles the AT upgrades w/ RUS & compact spare, which is a good value if you want those two items).
  • ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you want all 3 items included in the A/T Upgrade Package, shop pricing should actually be ~$300 cheaper (at least for pre-hike orders, based on my shop experience -- they basically discount the RUS from $2,000 to $1,700 with those configurations -- see image below) if you choose an Adventure Trim vs. an LE configured with all 3 options, so it only makes sense to select those on LE if you either (a) value the badging + wristband key at $300+ and/or (b) are bundling with LG paint or one of the free tire upgrades. Not sure if the same holds true for post-hikes since the Adventure pricing (for pre-hike) is actually more expensive for pre-hike orders ($3,950) than the cost of the "All-Terrain Upgrade" package offered to post-hike orders ($3,600).

More than 1 shop or they came and went quickly, the one I saw is empty now and was the same as tmack7

That is interesting, I still see the El Cap. So at least 3 versions of the shop.

I wonder if this is a change, when you previously shared screenshots your shop exactly matched what I could see.
