I just got my Canyon Red R1T and am mostly loving it.
Biggest immediate gripe is related to the AC system.
Is there any way to prevent the AC vents from moving? Like I spent the time to get them setup just right and then they change position for some reason. What makes this even more annoying is that there must be some sort of software issue with the vent position such that it think the vents are pointed somewhere they aren’t and you have to turn the vent on and off to get it to reset!
I also seem to have to turn my seat ac on almost every time I get in the car. Is there any way to fix these settings?

mostly happy but perplexed on how a vehicle that is several years into production could have such obvious issues that haven’t been fixed yet.

I agree with CTG, mine doesn’t do what you’re experiencing either. Sounds like a visit to a service center.

What software version are you running? That was an issue many releases ago. If you are on an old build then upgrading may fix it.

Also a new Red Canyon owner! Related question/clarification. Is the system supposed to remember vented seat settings? I have to turn this on every time I get in the truck. I assumed this was “normal” behavior, but now I am wondering.

Yeah mine used to do that but a software update fixed it. I would reach out because you might need an update.

They do not persist.

I have 2023.14.03 which says that it is the newest.
There is this statement in the release notes for this version that says that it turns off seat heating and ventilation when someone leaves for efficiency but is supposed to turn it back on when they return. I guess it is getting it half right.

I agree that they don't, but they are supposed to... Release notes for 2023.14 say:

Improved efficiency by turning off a seat’s heating or ventilation when the driver or a passenger exits the seat, and resuming heating or ventilation when someone returns to the seat.

Is there any way to force this update without going to a service center? When I go into updates it tells me I’m current.
No. And it's not that unbelievable that you are still waiting for 2023.18.0 as they slow roll it. There have been issues, however, where falling behind on updates may be indicative of an issue with a module not accepting updates.

I read that to mean only within a single drive cycle. Get out, lock the truck, and get back in and they start ‘off‘.

Hmm. That would explain why it never seems to resume...

well... forget about the vents. Now my truck won't charge. Been through resets and sleep cycles with a service tech. I can’t believe I just spent 100k on a vehicle and now I’m going to have to Uber to work.
