Anyone in California receive a registration renewal notice?

Realized it's been a year since I got my truck and I never got a renewal notice. Fortunately I remembered in time to avoid late fees.

I tried to go online to renew the registration. Entered in the plate and last five of the VIN and it could not find the vehicle, thus couldn't renew online either.

Was getting ready to go to Auto Club to renew, but tried DMV's Virtual Office first. Took a couple of days for them to respond, but they finally did today.

Was a bit shocked at the registration being $1,151. Was expecting in the $800 to $900 range, but apparently there's an overweight fee because the truck is so heavy!

Was able to pay via a link the Virtual Office sent, so should receive the renewal and stickers in the next couple of weeks.

I’m 2 months out from renewal and have been hoping it would be a little less than the initial registration, but I guess not. ?

I haven't received mine either. Going to aaa next week to get. Was wondering how much it would be. Thanks, will lessen the shock!

I didn’t receive a renewal notice either.

presumed it was due to change of address. Sounds like there is something else going on.

Just got a message from them that I had to fill out a weight declaration form. Seems quite odd. Filled it out and sent it back. Already paid the registration fees. Hoping that will take care of it. Not sure why they're making it difficult simply to renew. Aside from that though, to not send out renewal notices is not a good thing. I'm many will innocently forget that their renewal date is close or already passed. then be subject to late fees.
