I'd have to disagree on this point.. RFID chips are literally pennies in bulk nowadays.I can't imagine these bands having enough profit margin to be anything but a very low priority.
Even Tesla who are never shy about charging for products will sell you two RFID key cards in a wallet shipped via FEDEX for $35.
We've seen reports of Rivian selling the wristband for $100 and charging $60 to program it!
Huge markups on probably $2-3$ of materials!!
