So I just got another e-mail after confirming my config last week. This one talks about, you guessed it, trade-ins, financing and Rivian Insurance.

Those of you who have your Rivians how soon after this e-mail did you get your vehicle?

I was really excited but took about a month. But could have been sooner. I did a trade in with Rivian which was easy and better than other offers. I didn’t try to sale privately cause I didn’t want to deal with it. So i only lost $100 from what I originally paid on Tundra trade-in.

I'm currently an Oct-Dec 23 window holder, but of course now its "processing."

A month works for me.

I'm waiting to see whast Rivian will give me for my 2019 Tesla M3 AWD. I checked Carvana and they want to give me $26,000 and they are selling for around $32-36,000. I sure hope that Rivian will be better than carvana.

update:
I'd been getting this email chain as well. Curious as I figured I was still a WAYS out.

I bugged my guide for shop access and he said no can do as I'd been matched with a factory VIN and that it'd be 8-12 weeks. (This is significantly different fromthe July-Dec '24 window I'd had as recently as friday)

Rivian did do better than Carvana for my 2021 Ram 1500. They beat about $3000. At that point with the tax break it was a no brainer. Keep your chin up and see what they offer. Clean the trade in before you send in pictures. Be honest about door dings and road rash on the wheels. You should be fine.

I got that same email and have had shop access for awhile now. Good to hear that Rivian trade in’s are reasonable.

I got the “Learn More About Trade-Ins …” email on Aug 20 and received the “It’s time to begin the purchase process” email two days later (Aug 22).
