My Rivian letters are starting to fall off!

I fell in love with my R1S the moment I drove it. My cost of driving (compared to my Duramax) is a fraction of my previous costs. The one concern I have always had was, "How long will this thing hold up?" I have a couple small things that make me wonder. Today the glue on my Rivian (3.5 months old) lettering started giving way. My friend said, " Why is the "I" in the Rivian falling off?" My fears are not allayed...

First time I have heard of that issue, definitely not widespread.

I noticed the "I" was loose on mine. I put masking tape to mark where it should be and then peeled the letter off. Used 3M double sided mounting tape to glue it back on, $10 at HomeDepot. But it's not something you should have to worry about on a new car... There was another post not long ago warning about being careful washing your Rivian, you could loose an "I".

My I on rear gate was also falling off. I was able to get it before it fell off and used doubled sided 3m tape to fix.

Take pictures, and have Rivian fix it. That should be covered under the warranty.

The Rivian badge on the driver side C pillar is coming off for me. It's going to be address at the next SC appt.

By time you get an appointment, the rest of them will have fallen off. I just tried scheduling an appointment for a more serious issue and got mid January as the earliest ??‍

Check your Gear Guard for a local "villain" picking at your letters, could be looking for souvenirs.

It'll be covered under warranty, but as others have mentioned, these things are mounted with 3M double sided VHB (very high bond) tape. You can get a roll at Home Depot or Amazon, trim to size with an X-Acto knife, and you'll be back in business. Don't forget to mark your location on the vehicle and clean - with quick detailer and then alcohol - before sticking back on.

One thing to keep in mind: if you had a PPF wrap done and the installer removed the branding / badging, did the wrap, and then put everything back on, I suspect that Rivian may not cover the issue under warranty.

I think that would be short-sighted though since it makes an especially bad impression of quality if your branding is falling off.

Found I was missing the “I” last week, two weeks after having full PPF done, so not sure if a warranty covered issue. Not sure how Rivian will deal with replacement. I contacted my guide and she said to contact SC.

Seems like this is a little more widespread than I thought.. Is this the right forum to sell some I badging. I have 4 side door I‘s and 2 tailgate I’s sitting on my workbench.
